I assume that since Skydog said he was going to look, and never posted again, he must be playing Civ4. It is the only logical conclusion

To pass the time (and keep myself from getting giddy like a child on christmas eve.) been playing some fun sessions of Civ 2 while listening to "Civilizations" from this site: Link.
Been a while since I've gotten this excited about a game release. Luckily I avoided the whole Civ 3 dissapointment, can't remember what distracted me from having any interest in that one until after the bad reviews started coming in. |

Quake4, FEAR, Civ IV. Where'd all these triple a games come from all of a sudden? What else is on the horizon?

Though I'd go to Apolyton for "I GOT THE GAME" threads... though I haven't seen any yet.

Sons of bitches! If it shipped yesterday, it should be in TODAY! After all, isn't Tuesday the big day for releases of games in this country?

Northern Virginia GameStops say the game is being shipped to them today, should be in-stores tomorrow.
Northern Virginia Circuit Citys say the game is not in stock, is not in transit, and is not scheduled for shipment. Your guess is as good as theirs as to when they'll get it. Northern Virginia Best Buys say they dont have the game in their system yet, no ship dates, estimates, nothing. Northern Virginia Wal-Marts say let me transfer you to electronics, let me transfer you to games, customer service, the snack bar, baby clothes, ad infinitum. EDIT: Another Best Buy in NoVa said they had a "major shipping problem" and they will have the game on the shelves on Thursday the 27th. Last edited by Toddzilla : 10-25-2005 at 09:55 AM. |

I'll be heading to BB in a while for something else, and will see if they have Civ IV in stock. I'm holding off on buying it, as I don't think my computer is powerful enough. Also, I'd rather wait for the first patch or two.

The Best Buy circular in the Sunday paper for this week indicates Civ IV to be in stores on Wednesday.

I just called my local BB and they said they have a shipment coming in sometime this evening, and it should be on that. Does the information above mean this guy is on crack? I don't know much about how video game releases work..
I was going to wait a couple weeks to see about this game, but it's Civ! I'll probably buy it even if it sucks, so I might as well just get it over with. Too tempting.. |

General concensus amongst the Civ fan sites appears that it will be in stores tomorrow. Possibility for late tonight arrival at some stores, but tomorrow is the likely date it will be on shelves.

I don't think anyone has gotten it today... at least that is what I read on Apolyton. Although a number of sites said the game shipped YESTERDAY and if you ordered overnight shipping, I'd imagine you'd have to get it today, right? But that's not the case.

Shrug, all I know is 2K Games didn't email me the press release saying it shipped until this morning. That tells me ship date = today, but what do I know.

Yep... while Apolyton and CivFanatics have their own previews, this one was without a doubt the most indepth, going through the game (or what it has gone through so far), almost like a diary of a game.

So this site says my video card failed on both my laptops. I have a Mobility M9 with 64 MB on one comp and a GForce 4 440 on the other with 64 MB. On both instances the video card features underneath it pass. Does this mean the game will not run properly on either one, or will I be able to turn some things down and make it work?

You do realize that sites like that exist for getting you to go out and buy a new video card, right? Too many people have 'passed' on the components only to get a 'fail' on the main video ram requirement.
