Honestly, I have no idea how Anne Bancroft was viewed during her day...but I think her character was clearly a sex symbol despite (or in spite of) what people thought of her as a sexy actress.

Agreed. IMO the sex symbolness was way more Anderson than it was the character.

I'm guessing this might be one of the more controversial ones so, I'll either be burned at the stake or have people agree with it. The pick does NOT reflect my views and I am not giving my stamp of approval in any way, shape or form. Guess it is more of a sex 'symbol'

Oh, and Radii is still running away with the prize so far.

And in the context of this contest, Mustang, I'd say that was a terrific pick.

I almost went with this one in the 1st round after Kournikova came off the board. Great value pick.

I really like your board thus far, except the Venus de Milo selection.

In hindsight I regret the de Milo selection and just tried to get too clever. I'm trying to make up for it and I hope that in the end everyone has at least one blown pick and that my other 9 help me out.

I still think if you think of the true nature of "Sex Symbol" de Milo is a good pick - but one that I could have gotten clever with in the 8-10ish range, not 1.

dola (interrupted)

The Lolita pick takes off Sue Lyon and Dominique Swain off the board and could've taken another actress off the board, but I'll tell that story after the actress is picked or the draft is taken, whichever comes first.

For me I think Raquel gets the nod because she held up better over time and I think could still be considered a Sex Symbol in her age group. I'm not sure the same could be said of Farrah and her drugged up self.

Yeah, I'm questioning a couple of my picks myself, but then, I always second-guess myself in these things.

I think they are both good picks.
I think people tend to forget how big Farrah's poster (and nipple) were.

btw - something very interesting for me personally in this - this is the first time LS and I have participated in the same draft. Normally we can bounce ideas off of each other here and there, so it's interesting to see his picks without knowing what they will be.

So.

I tried to clean this up.

3 participants (at least) saw the pick. Not sure if st. cronin wants to do anything.

at least one of the people that saw it has the category filled already, so that minimizes some damage.

9. Fictional (Literary)
10. Fictional (Theatrical) 4.9 - Catherine Tramell, Basic Instinct

I was a bit worried about the name recognition of the character here, but since others are putting the book/movie their characters are from, I feel this is pretty much a slam dunk, espicially for the age bracket that dominates FOFC.

Sorry wade.

Also a friend's wife works for Tiger Beat magazine. Not kidding. Will have some expert feedback on the Le Bouf le bomb soon. Not that any is necessary.

A little too late for that.

Though I don't have as much of it memorized as I used to. It used to be that I could quote entire blocks of passages off the top of my head.

Now I'm only at the level where, if you give me a quote from it, I'll be able to give you the general situation surrounding it and a rough approximation of where it is in the novel.
