Wow, that stadium definitely emptied out quickly. What was the crowd ratio? 70/30 Oklahoma?

suppose 2 time pro bowler Tommie Harris is still overrated and that the second WR of Ohio State can't possibly hurt the studly defensive backs of Texas for example.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with what the Boise St. QB said, so much as when he said it.

A thought here, but you may not want to let Chris Peterson leave the state and just move right in to Denny's old office.

As Oklahoma's punishment for losing this game, the Arizona Cardinals will give up all of their draft picks for the next three years to Oakland to trade up and draft Adrian Peterson to sign him to a 30-year contract. This guarantees that Peterson will suffer for Oklahoma's greatest transgression.

Memo to Peterson, stay in school to avoid this tragedy. Do not be the martyr for Stoopy's faults!

On a serious note, I sincerely doubt that Peterson's playcalling strategy would work in the pros.

You name me one other conference that has the balls to put an 11 in the logo of a conference that is defined as having ten teams.

(And the SEC doesn't count. It's not their fault that they are limited to their fingers and toes down there)

Well, I think Peterson's conservative playcalling was one of the bigger reasons why Oklahoma was able to come back at all.

However, there is no question that his playcalling on 4th and 18 and in overtime was some of the gutsiest and smartest playcalling I've ever seen a coach make. EVER! (Capitalized for emphasis)

there is nothing gutsy about a hook and ladder on 4th and 18.

the last couple calls in overtime, on the other hand. i mean, that play to get the tying touchdown . . . i'd like to see any other coach that would make that call. same for the statue of liberty.

Biggest question of the night. Why is the local Fox affiliate here in Phoenix doing a live shot from their helicopter reporting on traffic? If you're leaving the game, you're not watching, and why in the hell would anyone be getting ready to go out to Glendale at 11:00 p.m.???

Sorry, that was a designed play and you could tell they practiced that and executed in practice. That wasn't just some lucky lateral thrown on a last gasp.

The closest play I've actually seen close in relation to that was the "Music City Miracle"

If I were Alabama, I'd take all that money they were throwing Nick Saban and throw it at Peterson.

That was the beautiful part of that play. That they had the confidence to execute it so flawlessly. Well all of their trick plays, for that matter.

You can't imagine how exciting it is for people in Boise to see their city on the national sports stage for the first time EVER.

That being said, the Boise metro area is bigger than people think - there's no reason they can't continue to be a perennial power on the fringe of national championship contention.

LOL, they are all over the place IMTG, even in this very thread where you said OU would finally show their dominance and take over.

And again, if you think Charles is a better player, that's fine. But it's funny how after 6 weeks you didn't think so and said it.

I don't have a problem with the BSU QB at all. He's an emotional kid who just won a big game against a team who was a TD+ favorite against him. He thinks he deserves a shot at anyone, and I happen to think he's right.

I think Wake, Louisville and Notre Dame are all worse than OU. (and I think ND could be the worst of the bunch)

BSU isn't going to change the world with this win. But they deserve all the credit in the world for pulling it off. I also don't buy for a second this was an accident. It wasn't a "cheap" win at all. There were many, many times in the game OU was the lucky team. (including the punt taking a goofy bounce and the tipped pass for the TD) They recovered everytime to win the football game. The talk should center on how well they played, no how badly OU sucked. Especially from a guy with burnt orange tinted glasses who gives OU players credit about as often as we have major solar eclipses.

I routinely cite Boise as a reason that it's absymal that Wyoming can't have a town over 55k people.

I know how big it is and it's a nicely kept secret at that. Good stuff, revel in the victory..you all deserve it.

the hook and ladder? are you serious? mike tice, for one, with randy moss as the hook. now thats gutsy. also, the '81 chargers/dolphins playoff game. thats the only time i can remember it actually working.

found this: http://www.miac-online.org/news22.html

also, apparently the jets tried it earlier this year against the colts. google isn't being much of a help yet.

fiu vs. clemson:

Quote:
he victory could be costly after linebacker Anthony Waters, their leading tackler last year who considered skipping his senior year for the NFL, was carried off the field with a sprained left knee late in the third quarter and Clemson up 31-6. The results of Waters' MRI were expected to be known Sunday.

urban meyere did it at utah: http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default...AFN4055133.htm

so i guess if im answering your 'name me one coach' challenge, i say urban meyer. he did it at least twice wih utah. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/foo...205_recap.html

call me crazy, but thats just what they did. and call me crazy, but i still only see two. if my math is right, to fit with the 1:5 ratio, you'd need about 4,398 more.

I love how the commentators were already talking about their coach leaving them. Damn, give the guy a minute to celebrate. Plus, after seeing Dan Hawkins in Colorado this year, I doubt he'd pack it up and bolt so swiftly.
