Actually if you stare long enough at his first post, it tells you the release date and what the next game to be released will be.
And its not a schooner.

Holy cow. This is now the 2nd-most viewed normal thread in FOFC History. (Not counting the reference thread, of course.)

1. He put out a patch for TCY, which means to some degree he was worked on the game. 2. From the website Quote:

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but Jim's new NFL Receiver Targets Report could be a project he worked on in order to make FOF6 more realistic. At least that's what I'm hoping!

Is there any chance that Jim and Solecismic could be moving? Sports Interactive games or sigames.com looks like it is quickly becomming the place for the independent; very interesting. Although changing CM to FM this year would hurt for FOF naming identity.
I remember when Jim posted that EAs FOF2002 outsold Solecismic's FOF4 eventhough it was almost 2 years out of date. As the business world says...Location, Location, Location!!! |

Regarding a possible move to SI - I'm all for Jim making more money, but from a consumer point of view I'm not a big fan of it. It seems that Sega is distributing the majority (if not all) SIGames at this point and, as you can see from Riz's posts, the developers have lost a lot of control regarding release. Can you imagine Jim releasing FOF6 or TCY2 but then have to follow up with a post saying he's not sure when the game will be released in North America?!

I am nervous about a new FOF game not being compatable with current universes. Perhaps an export/import program is also in the works?
Or, it's an issue that's on the backburner as we await TCY2??? Or we are most all off-base (baseball) and it's something else from left-field (baseball)? But anyway we look at it, I'm very excited to see what happens next. |

Sorry about misleading you guys last month. But I got this genuine faux real spurious e-mail from Solecismic this morning, and I felt I had to share it:
Blue, it is good to hear from you again. I have been Under the weather lately, but I have given consideration to Your questions. I still do not have a scheduled time Frame for introducing my new game, but so far beta testing is On schedule and after that I will put the Finishing touches on it and reveal it to the world in about 6 to 12 weeks' time. The new game promises to be a quantum leap forward in the History of sports text simulations. In this regard, I feel the need for Secrecy is paramount. Some may think my measures are Xtreme, but I see them as necessary, if not good Marketing tools. Again, thank you for your e-mail and perhaps I will See you when I am next in Michigan. |

Anyone else wonder what the heck a quantum leap forward could be? The only thing i can think is that it combines text with graphics, but that's so unlike Jim. Hmm...

Of course...I have now re-read the post and see the words "FAUX" and "SPURIOUS" in bold. So now I'm embarassed and feel stupid.

"greatly" = 7 letters "amuses" = 6 letters "me" = 2 letters Okay, I think this is a code for a weird double play. The shift is on for a pull-hitting rightie. The second baseman goes after a pop fly in shallow left...the shortstop and leftfielder do as well. As the players converge, the ball bounces off the 2B's head, richochets off the leftfielder's face, and caroms to the shortstop, who catches the ball, pivots, and fires a strike to the catcher who tags out the runner trying to score from third. For the classic 4-7-6-2 double play!

Does Jim really need to build a hype machine? I think threads like this one do the job very well. Even though I know any announcement will be the top article, I still read it, hoping there's new info.

jim definetly has the best marketing you can get. the kind that he doesn't need to put time into (as his quality of work in the past has made people come to him, not vice versa) Word of mouth is king. He could just throw a link on here and not say anything else and we'll do all the work for him.
congrats to jim on this. we're his minions! |
