I didn't get to keep up as well as I would've liked last year, and I'm afraid the same would happen this year. I'll go ahead and bow out.

With the business up and running, I really don't know when and how much free time I'd have so my spot is open.

I think one of the things we wanted to fix was roster size? I seem to remember people getting tired of drafting their 15th and 16th players last season. There was discussion of using two QB's (that I personally didn't care for), potentially changing the scoring system, and possibly adding a keeper for the upcoming season for a rookie that I thought sounded interesting.

Here is everything I have from last season. If anyone can think of any more, feel free to add them.

Quote:
1. Smaller Rosters. The bench spots will be reduced from 8 to 6.

2. Rookie Keeper. Every team can keep an additional keeper at any position, as long as the player was a rookie in the previous season.

3. 2 QB's. Every team must start 2 QB's. (If this passes, we will consider modifying QB scoring.)

4. Playoff Teams. The two wildcard spots will be awarded to the teams with the best records, regardless of conference.

Tentative schedule for 2008:

July 14th - All rule discussion is concluded. All members will have one week to vote on any rule proposals.

July 21st - Announcentment of rule changes.

August 8th - All keepers are due, leaving five days before the draft to set a preference list.

August 13th - Draft starts with a 12 hour limit per pick. The draft clock will be active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST).

August 20th - Draft continues with normal draft rules... Two hours per pick with the clock active from 10:00 AM (EST) until 12:00 AM (EST). You are encouraged to setup a draft list as the Sportsline "robot" tends to favor QB's.

Any problems with this?

a couple of thoughts.

Would the rookie keeper come into play this year meaning you can protect a rookie from last year starting now ( I'm looking at you Adrian Peterson) or will that actualy start with next years keepers?

I would tink if we go with 2 quarterbacks starting we should keep rosters at 8 reserves.

That would start next year, for rookies drafted this year.

I absolutely think this would have to start for the upcoming season to be fair. Although boy wouldn't this past season have been a great one for it to have started...

Schedule looks great TLK, thanks for the organization.

1. Smaller Rosters. The bench spots will be reduced from 8 to 6.- abso-freakin-lutely. Might as well just show up for the draft now since there's nothing on the ww after about week 2.

2. Rookie Keeper. Every team can keep an additional keeper at any position, as long as the player was a rookie in the previous season.-yay. nice idea to add a little dimension to the keeper aspect

3. 2 QB's. Every team must start 2 QB's. (If this passes, we will consider modifying QB scoring.)- Yay, so it's not just RB-draft-o-rama as it is in most leagues; the keeper aspect does change this a little

4. Playoff Teams. The two wildcard spots will be awarded to the teams with the best records, regardless of conference. Definitely.

1. Smaller Rosters. The bench spots will be reduced from 8 to 6.- Yes. I think everyone was just taking stupid wild shots by the end of the draft.

2. Rookie Keeper. Every team can keep an additional keeper at any position, as long as the player was a rookie in the previous season.- No. More complicated.

3. 2 QB's. Every team must start 2 QB's. (If this passes, we will consider modifying QB scoring.)- No, never played with this system.

4. Playoff Teams. The two wildcard spots will be awarded to the teams with the best records, regardless of conference. - Yes. I think I made the playoffs last year with a crappy record and didn't deserve to be there.

I'm against 2 QB's because it just seems like someone is going to get screwed. Every team will need 3 QB's and with 12 teams... that would equal 36. I'd hate to lose a week because one of my QB's is on a bye week and I couldn't replace him.

Exactly. That would be horrible stuff. Also while backup RBs do get points, even on teams with great starting RBs (see Michael Turner in SD), backup QBs won't get any reps with great starting QBs who don't get hurt.
