I had the good Mother in my matrix but in the later era. Guess either one would work.

I had her in the era she was picked in since that is when she really started her business.

I agree it fits but I don't think it would be the category most/some voters would think of.

Damn you! Great pick. She could realistically fit into 4 different categories. Excellent choice.

Are we allowed to change someone's category after they've been drafted as long as it actually fits?

I guess I was a little naive to think that some of these folks were going to be around when it got back to me.

My original #1 pick is still there, but I think I have a new person for their category.

Unfortunately, he did not. Although give the pace earlier, not sure I fault him for thinking he would be in the clear til morning. Just hammers in to send in lists.

That would be a no.

Call it as you play it, and it's cast in stone from there forward.

We could just give him Carlton Fisk or Frank Thomas for Sportsmen and move on.

Hey, I could have said Scott Posednik or Bobby Thigpen. At least with Fisk/Thomas he would be getting a HoFer/likely HoFer.

Don't remind me of that Podsednik deal.

Oh well, I really like this year's lineup and was ecstatic when we got Nick Swisher.

In honor of LWSFS, I say we turn this into a shady White Sox thread until he returns and makes his pick.

I say, where have you gone, Britt Burns?

If it makes you feel any better, you have your closer because my dumbass team waived him to make room for a trade deadline acquisition of Alex Ochoa or some such nonsense.

Daryl Boston played with the Sox? Heh...I don't even remember that.

But, I'm nothing special. I was drawing a blank until I went to baseballreference.com.

I used to think Black Jack McDowell was awesome.

You know he's crazy, right? It's one of the reasons I liked him, even as a prospect before getting to the bigs. (100 mph fastball plus not certain control plus crazy == mucho mucho entertainment)

That's probably what LWSFS thought.

Oh I know! I -love- seeing the radar gun pop triple digits. Of course it was most enjoyable seeing it in the World Series.

Aside from Imhotep (best pick so far IMO) and Catherine The Great, the second round has pretty much stunk so far.

I sit at my computer staring at the monitor all day while eating generic corn chips. Nothing. I go out to see a movie and all hell breaks loose! I appreciate the references although I am a bit saddened to see no references to Ron Kittle. If there was a category for best slugger with glasses, oh wait that would be Reggie Jackson, but he would be a close second.

2.9 Michelangelo artist rennaisance

Although there are other people who I could have picked. I Just cannot resist the shakespeare michelangelo combo. The Sistine Chapel, David, the Pieta are but a few of his great works. His mark on art and world history cannot be denied. Well it could be, but it wouldnt be wise to do so.

Errr, Michaleangelo is Renaissance, not Middle Ages.
