Well, I guess the media now will jump off the LSU bandwagon, and that may be good. LSU has always flown better under the radar. I said a couple of weeks ago that I didn't understand how LSU jumped USC after I watched LSU play Tulane. LSU is a good team, as good as anyone in the country IMO, but LSU is not the dominant team people began making them out to be, just as USC was not the greatest football team ever assembled. The D has problems and holes. Spurrier first exposed those this year. And the offensive has weaknesses, too.

Kentucky played a great game and deserved to win, and LSU made a whole lot of mistakes in the game -- drops, penalties, poor passes, you name it. Also don't underestimate the effect the UF game had on them.

Now LSU has to play a very good Auburn team, but they get Auburn at home.

But when all is said and done, LSU still has a chance to win out and play in the BCS championship game. As good a chance as anyone.

Congrats again to Kentucky.

The 1-loss teams have no reason to give up hope for a National Championship, not this year.

Ok, you mention AZ St, and USC, no brainer that those are tough games and I agree.

But Washington state is no slouch and could beat anyone on any given weekend. Washington is their defense steps up can play with anyone and Stanford just knocked off USC.

yes, Ohio State has a much easier path to follow than Cal. If you look at the matchups team by team for tOSU, you'll notice their strengths are setup against the weaknesses of most o their opponents.. I admit I don't know how wel Cal matches up with their foes and they could be in the same situation, so that could alance them.

Overall the pollers like Ohio State more in general. I assume this is because of recent long term success?

Or just Big-Ten Bias. =)

QFT

This has been the most upset-filled season I've ever seen. I fear for tOSU. They've gotta look at what's happened to everyone else and stay focused.

There is a piture of Smith getting hammered in the title game last season, with the score listed on it, tey have to look at that every day in the locker room. If that's not sobering enough to keep you from getting overconfident, nothing is.

You guys are doing alright. You're starting to experience the OU holding phenomenon. Bob Stoops has coached them how to hold without getting called perfectly since he got there. Like on the short TD run. The RG right at the point of attack wrapped up the outside of your DL's shoulder pads. No call.

It's amazing and irritating to watch all at the same time.

LOL. And right as I post that their crowd whines about a non-call on a Mizzou hold. Hilarious.

Not to interrupt the Mizzou-OU talk (tho I am pulling for the Tigers as it would make it that much sweeter when we beat them )

The KU-Baylor game took over 6 hours today as the start was delayed nearly 2 hours due to thunderstorms and then in the first quarter, we were herded out of the stadium after lightning struck really close and kept out for about half an hour. KU eventually would win 58-10 on the strength of 4 picks and a kickoff return for a TD.

Another blatant hold by OU not called. This one by their left guard on 1st and 15 leads to a 12 yards gain.

And then their inside TE wraps up the DE on the touchdown run. This would be maddening if it weren't so funny.

Oregon State just had a sweet goal line stand. After a pass interference gave Cal a 1st and Goal at the 2, they ran it 4 straight times and couldn't get in. It's still 20-14 Beavs.

Yup..at least we stopped the 2 point conversion(dont know why they didnt run, we cant wrap up). 5 Point lead for OU with a lot of time left.

If your mizzou, and score, do you go for 2 for the 3 point lead or just take the xp?

3 point lead. By the time Mizzou scores I don't think there will be enough time to worry about both teams scoring. Go for the field goal lead.

Although it will be close with 12 minutes still to go.

That was an awesome goal line stand. Cal has good field position now going into the 4th quarter because of that idiot who dropped the wide open 3rd down pass. When was the last time #1 and #2 both fell on the same day?

The coaches' chart is broken. Stoops just did the same stupid thing Mack Brown did against Central Florida. He goes for two with the lead at 11.

Now Mizzou can tie with just a field goal and TD if they convert a two point conversion. Kicking the extra point there forces Mizzou to score two touchdowns.

Oregon State goes up 28-21 with the 2 point conversion. Cal fumbles the ensuing kickoff and Cal commits a late hit out of bounds on the first play. OSU has it inside the 20 now.

It seems quite likely to me that Oregon will be ranked higher than California on Monday... which would be a great argument for not using the polls in the BCS formula.
