Top 3. I'm impressed. Now if I could just one day actually win a race then life would be complete...

Don't you remember the time that you beaned me during batting practice before one or our games in Anaheim? Well, you said that you were going to give me a ham as an apology, yet I have yet to recieve it.

My revenge has now been exacted....

Padding my lead and breaking the Rupen curse. Just the begining of another Championship season. Im going to stay with the Lycos Chevy for the rest of the year, after I win the championship hopefully I will get a good sponsor. Tokunaga and Snow this is the begining of a very big lead, you won't be able to overcome.

Bonus Points System

I have decided to implement a new bonus points system. It is aimed to reward those who post messages in the thread about the series. It won't be something that will give anyone a big advantage though. For every ten posts at least 2 lines long you will receive 1 bonus point to add to your stats. You can add the points at the end of the season. It won't have a big impact to start but after a few seasons it could begin to have an impact. Posts already made this season will count towards the total.

Good bye top of the standings...

Even with the post bonus points I don't think I have a chance!

Oh well, I can keep my signature the same now!

FOFC Winston Cup Rumor Mill

Word is that there is no chance Lycos will be back to sponsor Nick Phillips' #51 car. Lycos has no intention's of becoming a full-time sponsor in the series just yet. And Phillips Racing would want much more money than Lycos could offer anyway. Leading candidates to sponsor the #51 car next year are Pizza Hut, Goodyear, Sunoco, and RCA.

Word is that Sean Williams, owner of the #9 and #10 cars driven by Mr. Buttercup Jr. and Taco Money, is looking to expand to 3 cars next season. Drivers being rumored to drive the new car include ARCA drivers Johnny Benson and Damien Leonard and Craftsman Truck Series driver Ricky Woods. Rumored sponsors include Sunny Delight, a former sponsor for Taco Money, Microsoft, and Shell.

Retirement Rumors: Could this be Bobby Mask's final season in the FOFC Winston Cup? Bobby is currently in his 8th season of racing, his best career points finish was 2nd. Bobby wants to get more involved in the behind the scenes dealings with Mask Racing. Bobby's younger brother Andre is currently driving the #5 Snap-On car for Mask Racing. Rumors are already circulating that Truck Series driver Ricky Woods could be the driver that would take over for Mask. Woods is also a candidate for the possible new car on Sean Williams' team. Rumors are that Mask might put Woods in a #02 Cingular Wireless car for one race before the season's end. California, Phoenix or Homestead are the three possible tracks where Woods may drive.

Word out of Hollywood is that a new movie is being planned based on the FOFC Winston Cup Series. Apparently, offers have already been made to Chris Snow, Telle Snow, Jeeber D Mack and It's Craptacular to star in the movie. Other drivers would most likely have some part in the movie.

Watkins Glen Predictions

Here's the picks for the Sirius at the Glen from our esteemed panel of racing experts.

- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

Nick Phillips - Nick is a great road course driver. At Sears Point an accident was the only thing that kept him from a top five finish.

- LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM

Mike Tokunaga - Tokunaga dominated at the last road course race but had to pit and surrender the lead late. Today he won't have those same problems.

- DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

Travis Elkin - Elkin should qualify well today at Watkins Glen. At a road course the key to a good finish is a good qualifying effort.

- RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM

Kodos N. Kang - Kodos should run well today. Expect him to take the checkered in first.

- GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Shane Kormelink - Shane is a good road racer. He qualified 2nd at Sears Point. If he qualifies just as well today he should take the win.

I think this is the last season Aaron Hogg will compete. No results mean no ride. I have only 1 top five finish since I moved to the winston cup. I have only lead 12 laps in two seasons. That has to be a record.

I have to say, It is very nice to see highlights of myself, when they don't involve being upside down, backwards on the track, sideways, or dented in some way.

I refuse to jinks myself by saying, maybe we can get on a role now. (oops...did I say that outloud?)

I wanted to let everyone know that I have moved my homepage to a new domain, and still own the old one as well. Why is this important you ask?

I am going to be creating and posting a page at:
http://NR2003.majecc.net

On this page I will have a rundown on the database driven site that is in the works (yes its still being built, slowly but surely)

I will also include a descriptive page of just how the stats affect your car and to what extent, so that people playing in the leagues can make a better informed stat set when they set up their driver.

So keep an eye out for the site, its not there right now but will be in a few days time!

Gold: keep up the great work man, excellent stat info you put together there!

Johnny Benson denys talking directly to Sean Williams about driving a 3rd car next year but said " if given a ride of that caliber came along it would be hard to say no. And I would love to take the next step forward in my racing career. But right now Im fully committed to my ARCA team and clinching this championship" Johnny Benson leads ARCA points by 478 and needs only to start next weeks race at POCONO to lock up his 3rd straight ARCA title.

Rumor is that Phillips Racing is considering dropping their 4th car in the series, which would be Kevin Anderson and his #8 AOL Chevy. Anderson is currently 26th in points, which is the worst of all Phillips Racing drivers. Rudd who is 18th in points and has been with been with Phillips Racing for 5 seasons is considering retirement after this season. So if there is any drivers looking for and opening and want to be with a dominate program such as Phillips Racing(Nick Phillips #51, Mustafa Henderson #20, Billy Rudd #27, Kevin Anderson #8) please contact Phillips Racing.

Sirius at the Glen Results

Nick Phillips has always been a great road racer. Today he showed why. With 15 laps left he was 3 seconds behind the leaders Taco Money and Rewbie Newsday. He caught them in only 5 laps and made a daring pass going into turn 1 to take the lead. He never looked back and took the victory. On the same lap where Nick took the lead Taco was spun out by a lapped car and would finish 25th, 1 lap down.

Quote from Sean Williams, Car owner of #9 Buttercup Jr. and #10 Taco Money: "The teams this year are simply not performing to their capability. I feel we have one of the best drivers in the business in young Buttercup and we are committed to keeping him with us. However, changes need to be explored elsewhere within this team. We feel the 10 car is somewhat holding back the 9 and its potential. A young driver like Buttercup could be the best option."

There has been late breaking news from Sean Williams. Look below to read the transcript.

Sean Williams:
"In all efforts to step our program here, we have decided to part ways with Taco Money. Taco has brought early success and respect to this team in his rookie season but has since struggled. We appreciate his work ethic and heart and racing talent. We feel he will be a very very good addition to another team, however the chemistry just wasn't there with our current team. Johnny Benson has agreed to fill in for the rest of the season and we feel he can even win some races for us. Johnny has just locked up the ARCA points and is eager to move on in his career. Hopefully Johnny can bring immediate success to this 10 team and continue is success with the 10 team next year as well. Also in efforts to step up the program we have decided to move the 10 car and 9 car into the same shop, share more info, and name the team Money Motorsports, this is all an effort to biuld team chemistry and respect."

Johnny Benson, new driver of the 10 Valvoline Car for Money Motorsports:
" I am just tickled to death to be able to be apart of this team and give this team a chance to win some races. Hopefully I will bring immediate success to this team and sign a long term contract with this team. This team is a top notch team and deserves the best. We do have goals for the rest of this year. Since we can't win the points chase now, we have goals to just win a race and get experience and work together. Next year though, we will set the bar high and expect nothing less than a championship. I really cant wait to work with Buttercup, he is a class act and highly skilled driver. I know he has struggled tom but I just want to get thru this year so we can both start from scratch next year. It should be fun!"

Taco Money is now available to anyone that would like him...

Phillips Racing driver Billy Rudd has decided that he will retire from racing at the end of this season. Rudd has been with Phillips Racing for the past 5 seasons and said it is time to move on. Rudd plans to possibly start his own Racing team, or maybe start his own clothing company. Rudd has dove the #15 Best Buy car, and is currently driving the #27 Nike car. Best luck to Billy Rudd.

Phillips Racing has made plans to talk to Taco Money about the possibility of Taco driving for Phillips Racing next year. No formal contact has been made yet.

As if Money Motorsports hasn't been in the news enough the past few days Sean Williams, owner of Money Motorsports is now talking about a 3rd car. "I feel a 3 car operation would simply be benefitial to this corporation." Money Motorsports has not released any names or number or sponsors or etc...but Taco Money, Yes! The same Taco that was just released has been contacted by Sean, a source confirmed yesterday. Taco has not been reached for comment.
UPDATE: This 3rd team is merely a idea and would not start until 2004 and hearing that Taco is in the running. Hmmmm.... Interesting....

NASCAR WEEKLY

The TV Tech team reports discussions are in order with Snow Motorsports about the possibility of changing numbers for next season. No decission has been made at this time, but rumors are Chris Snow wants to return to his glory days by reaquiring the number 4, which he had when he won is 4 championships. Kool Breeze, the TV Tech driver isn't keen on the idea, since 4 is his favorite number, but the team officials may be willing to swap for financial considerations.

Superflo Motor Oil is reportadly in talks with AJEM Racing, owners of the #46 Monte Carlo. Driver Antoine Jerome Evander Marriucci hasn't performed up to expectations so far and the future of the team may be in jeopardy. However, the racing department at Antoine Jerome Evander Marriucci Technical Institute of Technology isn't worried. Student at the school/engine builder, Hank Hankson says,"Sponsors are constantly trying to get into this sport. We should have no problem finding one."

Richmond Predictions

Here's the picks for the Pontiac Excitement 400 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.

- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

Rewbie Newsday - Last season at Richmond Newsday qualified 1st and finished 2nd. He should be strong again.

- LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM

Rob Zalez - Rob is always a solid short track racer. Today will be no different as he will be the first one to take the checkered at the end.

- DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

He's Crapnificent - If Crapnificent can pull off the win it will be one the biggest upsets in recent history. He finished 6th last year.

- RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM

Ren Snow - Ren will dominate today's race. There is no reason he can't.

- GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Mr. Buttercup Jr. - I'm going back to pick Buttercup again. He better not let me down again.

Sean Williams owner of the 9 and 10 Money Motorsports cars drove by Buttercup Jr. and newly hired Johnny Benson said he expects both teams to run better this next race and the rest of the season than they have been running all year souly because of new driver Johnny Benson. Yet he confirms he is not putting pressure on the young driver to single handily turn the program around, rather he will let him mature on his own and realizes that there will be bad runs and mistakes by the new driver. Yet also says to look out for this driver in the next races and upcoming season to become a championship contender! And dont forget about ButtercupJr.!
