I think a better prepared team takes advantage. It's pretty clear Norv overlooks the details.

Not really. Basically a bunch of roided up freaks, with a horrible head coach and a bonehead QB. Still a horrible organization any way you look at it. Marty would have won this game.

the weather wasn't great in this one either. Coldest game of the year, and windy. you could certainly see some of the passes floating and hanging on both sides

Jeeber, you would be pleased to know that I actually watched most of the game, which I rarely do considering I hate commercials.

These two are my favorite teams so I was just sat back and watched the game unfold. No matter who won, I really, really, really want the AFC team to win the SB. It would have been cool to see the Bolts do it, considering where they were this year. But it is the Patriots year and they should go out on top.

Go Pats.

Good game by the Pats, helluva an effort by the Chargers' D. As a Chargers' fan I'm really wondering about LT right now. Unless there was something really f'ed up with the knee, he should have been out there. For as good as the Pats red zone D was, having (and running) LT by the goal line would have gotten at least 1 TD instead of a fg, imo. Just a shame he wasn't out there when it mattered the most.

Of course it mattered. You take a chance to win or effectively hand the game to the Pats. How do you not go for it? They hit that pass and even just kick a field and they are in it to the end. They go 4 and out, the Pats gain 20 yards over where a punt leaves them. How you don't take that chance is baffling.

The play of the game had to be the Faulk diving catch. I told my wife that when they got the ball back at 9:45, it's time for one of the quarter ending drives that the Pats have been doing lately. Sure 'nuf.

If it is to be the Pats year, then next year let it be the Bolts. They are good enough to win it all.

Yep. Quick hit on third down, you have some fast players. Maybe they can throw a smokescreen every once in awhile too? Or did the Patriots patent that play? They Norv'd the game away, in part due to that horrible sequence.

Two more weeks of the Pats. Anyone got a timeshare in New Zealand I can borrow? What I did watch of the game, I never got the sense that the Pats were in danger. The Chargers just didn't look like they could do it on offense.

I really hope the Giants win. I don't want to hear about Favre for the next two weeks, except for his annual "I'm going to retire but I got the heart of a warrior" schtick.

idk, just seems like meaningless 2nd guessing. It was a tough road either way and I think they lose either way. And if the Chargers had somehow gotten enough on 4th and 10 and (like you say) get 3, you have the same situation of N.E. pounding the rock and throwing short passes. They probably get 3 on the drive anyway (especially with excellent field position on the kickoff). Again, either way you have a lot of if's - the game was more or less decided by that point and the Chargers wouuld have needed a good deal of luck either way Norv went about it.

I've got the replay of the Packers-Giants game on tonight at 10:30pm (12 hours from now).

What are the chances of me avoiding any spoilers by then?

The fact that I'm in Australia makes it easier, but I'm just waiting for a it to flash on a news site somewhere.

just stay out of this thread, stay off of any site involving news, keep the radio off, and the tv off / tuned to channels that don't have news.

I'm unbelievably spoiled as a Boston sports fan. And I'm also lucky that this all came where I'm old enough to appreciate it, but young and unattached enough to travel around and see much of it 1st hand.

I hope the Pack win so for the next two weeks you have to hear about how he is one of the greatest QBs of all time, along with talk about if he will retire and being a warrior.

As it's almost 1am here, I was thinking on watching the replay also tomorrow when the Spanish USA sports channel re-airs it... but no way to avoid spoilers and the tempation to read FOFC and NFL.com so i decided to watch it in streamtv now even when it means going to bed at 4am and being wasted tomorrow.

Btw, is the TV image shaking from right to left for everybody or is it the stream quallity? It was fine for the Pats game and it looks more of a problem of the high view TV camera shacking, maybe because the wind?

wouldn't Pats-Giants be like...boring because it will be a repeat of the season finale (which wasn't a throwaway game like they sometimes are and was played at 100% effort by both sides) ??

Manning's receivers sure are letting him down in this game. Some outstanding catches, but they keep dropping them in critical situations.

Phew. I am feeling a little better. I was starting to get real uptight until that Driver TD reception. The Giants D certainly came to play and made it look like the Packers offense was completely flat and just....blah. It was starting to look like that on defense as well. The momentum was greatly needed. For me anyways.

Some luck from a dropped pass or two on the Giants part sure is helping. Yikes. I hope Grant can get going in the second half.

That drive was just dumb on the Packers part. They should have stood to the side and let them score, would have saved half the quarter the Giants just got to eat up at least.
