So the Dodgers swept the Cards. Way to manage that team of yours, LaRussa. At least I won't have to hear how much of a baseball genius he is now. Of course, that will fall on Joe Torre now.

LOL. I think it's kind of stupid to have a champagne and beer hootenany after winning the LDS.

Really impressive series by LA. Though I do think if Holliday makes that catch, we have a 5 game series in this one.

Yeah, especially considering what they did last year after thumping the Cubs in three. You would think that it might be a little bit different.

I think Fenway might burn down if the Red Sox don't staunch the bleeding and recover in the bottom of the 9th.

ANGELS WIN!!!!!!

As an 11 year old, I still cringe when I remember Game 5 all those years ago. Finally, the Angels avenge that loss.

Thanks Ronnie, and sorry you had to be there for that. The Sox have been an incredible team, and will continue to be so, with the kind of high quality organization and approach that they use.

We'll need all the help we can get. If it's the Yanks, that's probably the best team they have had since last winning it all. If it's the Twins, well, they just beat the Yanks.

I know no Angels will admit to this, but I really hope there isn't some underlying subconscious vibe that, now that they have beaten the Red Sox, they have done what they needed to do. I want whatever drove them in this series to continue to drive them right up to winning a trophy.

I wouldn't be surprised that if the Yankees win the series the story will shift to how the Yankees can't beat the Angels, since they have the best record against the Yankees the last ten or so years, and eliminated them from the playoffs in 2002 and 2005 in the ALDS.

I doubt baseball is pulling for the Angels, though, since they want a Yankees-Dodgers series.

If the Phils win tonight, I think Philly wins in four.

If the Rockies win tonight, I think the Rockies win in four.

So, tonight is probably the series.

Oh, good news for Phillies fans: Cole Hamels is staying in Philadelphia until Game 5, if necessary, which means he will not be available for Charlie to use out of the bullpen tonight.

Ridiculous you have to play baseball in 30 degree weather. Nothing they can really do about, but ridiculous nonetheless.

The Yankees are close to a sweep. If it happens will the ALCS be moved up or will MLB wait for the Phillies-Rockies series to end?

Grats to the Twins for a hard fought series. Even though we swept them, they have nothing to be ashamed of. The ridiculous resources the Yankees have access to finally payed off, at least in this round.

I see.

Hopefully Phillies - Rockies goes five games then (I'm not fond of either team) just so there isn't a long stretch without the playoffs on TV.

But how will you know that George Lopez is going to have a late-night comedy show starting up soon?

I seem to recall a station hosting baseball playoffs advertising the crap out of some unfunny overweight comedian who was going to start a crappy late-night show in the not to distant past. Wonder whatever became of that show.

Maybe if I use Express Fed Ex Overnight delivery, I can get my minted half dollar Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira coins before the ALCS starts.

I've been seeing more promos for that Man of a Certain Age show than George Lopez today. TBS/TNT make me hate their non-sports programming before I'd even have a chance to not watch it with the constant advertising.

I don't recall NBC having the playoffs, but Leno's on at 10 on weekdays.

Betancourt did a great job there.

I HATE those stupid towels. I went to the LDS against the Phils back in '07 and those were the most annoying damn thing ever.

Really, I kind of like the towels. Thunderstix, no. Towels? Ok. The only negative I can see is that you can't make as much percussive noise while waving a towel. I'm not sure you really want to be clapping when it's 25 degrees out, anyway.

Those stupid towels make it VERY hard to see when you're standing in the crowd trying to watch the game, though. That's why they're so irritating.
