Meanwhile, undefeated Texas or Texas Tech vs undefeated Alabama would be verrry interesting.

For the record, I think it's a fairly safe bet that Penn State will actually be the only team to go undefeated this year. I pick Tech tonight, but Oklahoma will beat them later. Alabama to lose in the SEC championship game.

Penn State to get rolled up in the BCSNCG. Carrying on the proud B10 tradition, as demonstrated so well by Ohio State the last two years.

Well, if Texas does lose, it probably helps Penn State out a lot.

Texas Tech would still have Oklahoma State and Oklahoma over the next two weeks (aka, the same gauntlet Texas just had to run through).

I get the feeling Alabama is going to get to the SEC Championship game unscathed, but will then be blood bath'ed by Florida.

So, it might be a scenario where it's Florida/Alabama vs. 5 different teams in the B12 against PSU (at least that's what I hope, anyway).

UT trailing 24-6 at South Carolina, gets an INT & high energy return from Eric Berry ... and can't make a first down, not even needing six inches on 4th down.

Va Tech and UNC are both inconsistent, and UNC's best player is out for the season, and they are having QB injury problems. FSU will be tough but its at home. BC isn't that good.

But, if Maryland only wins 1, PLEASE win the Va Tech game to knock one of those Coastal teams with a tiebreaker on Georgia Tech down a bit

Hehe, while I agree with your analysis of VaTech and UNC, I'm still preparing myself to be disappointed.

That said, if I could pick only one of those games to win, I want it to be VaTech, too, to knock some of the utter tools I work with down a peg or 6. Too damn many VaTech people where I work...

Texas is going to have to score a TD on their 1st possession of the 3rd quarter to have any shot in this game. They are lucky to only be down 16.

Alabama hasn't beaten anyone really that impressive (except for Georgia....whom Florida destroyed today).

I'd call that a definite possibility, probably a toss up game right there. 'Bama is awfully young & there's no way to know how they perform in that situation.

This is becoming a trend, another #1 team(Texas) bites the dust.

Alabama will become the next #1, beat Florida in the SEC title game, but bite the dust in the NCG against the best #2 team available.

I know we'll never get a playoff, but I'd think that with Georgia's double-digit loss, there are 8 teams alive for the NC Title Game:

Texas
Alabama
Penn State
Oklahoma
USC
Florida
Texas Tech
Oklahoma State

You really can't make an argument that anyone outside of those eight teams belongs in the NC title game from here on out.

'Bama's biggest problem is that it won't have the sheer amount of depth that Florida has. At some point those subs have to come in and Florida is stocked full of guys and certainly guys with speed. Again, at some point that's going to kick in. Give 'Bama 2-3 more years and it would highly interesting. As much of a 'Bama fan that I am, there's a loss coming in there somewhere and so far all signs point to Florida. If Florida doesn't get into the NC game and don't get one of the other elite Big 12 teams(my guess they don't), pray for who does get them.

bullshit holding call wipes out a decent gain, then a pick 6.

It's really kind of sad to see how far Nebraska has fallen since their glory days.

Oklahoma now up 62-21 over Nebraska, with another Bradford TD pass (his 5th) in the final minute of Q3.

I don't think they have fallen that far. They have won at least 5 games every year and have been to a bowl game 2 out of the last 3 years. It's not like the 1970s or 1990s but they haven't fallen as far down as Michigan or Notre Dame has/had.

I rarely delight in the proverbial vanquished foe- you don't see me talking too much crap when my teams win- I'm very happy for my team but I don't want to rub it in the face of fans of the opponent. Nebraska is one of the rare exceptions. This post sums it up:

Front Office Football Central - View Single Post - College Football Week 6 thread

I badly want to break their streak against us in Lincoln next week.

1-11 vs ranked teams since 2006, that's a pretty steep drop IMO.
Couple of teams teams in the conference, Colorado is 2-10 vs the Top 25, A&M is 3-7. Neither are teams I would consider in the same perspective as Nebraska.

Texas cuts the lead to 10 points heading into the 4th quarter. The safety and the pick 6 are the difference in the game at this point.

Drive of the game coming up right here, as Texas blocks a FG and takes over down by 10 with 11:14 to play.

WOOT! Texas takes the lead with 90 seconds to go! The defense will need to step up and keep Tech from getting down to FG range.

The reaction shot on the Texas sideline said it all. That might belong on the front page of every newspaper in Texas tomorrow, no headline needed.
