---> We have received a number of offers to board some horses, but we have 18 of a possible 20 that are occupied. We are leaving these open for new stock of our own if the next auction has anything of value up for grabs.

---> Fame is unchanged at 62 but we have moved up a spot, tied for 59th out of 151.

Not terribly positive jockey comments in the last two races. Wonder if it's a byproduct of their diets or if it's the horses themselves.

She retooled in the form rating already so we are putting her back in again, this time in a steeplechase race. We'll see how she handles that, but in the other steeplechase we ran, there seemed to be no difference in terms of how the horse ran.

We are trying a more stern jockey to see if that will fix the "difficult to ride" problem from her last race. If not, I have, once again, no idea what comments are for.

OK, I might have missed this, but could you do me a favor and explain what the *- interval of gains to qualify for race ... means? In laymens (sp) terms since I really don't know anything about horceracing. Other than that.. keep up the good work!

Thanks, Junior 19.

"Interval of gains to qualify for race" is the criteria for which horses are eligible to enter any particular race. For example, 50785 > 138133 means that only horses that have race purse winnings between those two amounts ( between $50785 and $138133) can enter (declare) a race. Gains are the fancy term for monies won in a race.

Any other questions, just ask and I'll do my best to answer, as I have no great knowledge, either.

Steeplechase is the one where the horses have to jump barriers during the race (how many depends on the length of the race). Normal, or flat, is just running, period.

The horse is very sharp and I think we work well together.

I have seperated the race and the results because, looking at a few, the 'WINNER' box is very large and I thought, when races are tight in the future and outcomes in doubt, it was too easy to catch a glimpse of the winning horse from the box and ruining any suspense in reading the race log.

Good idea or no?

---> The breeding season has begun. Obviously, Almighty Farms will sit this one out.

---> Beautiful Ladonia has advanced to Level II as a result of her latest race gains. Hopefully, we will see some stiffer competition and bigger purses at this new level.

---> Fame is now 63. Almighty Farms is tied for 58th position on the list.

Bug, it seems so. We will see if Level II gives better competition.

daed, thanks for the comments. It will be interesting to see what happens in B.L.'s next race, if the jockey remains a match or if it is just another crapshoot thing in this game.

What an imbecile. :o

Maybe these horses need tougher jockeys because their adaptability ( listen to the jockey) score is so low.

Doh/Duh.

Yes, I do find it strange that Beautiful Ladonia doesn't lose her form after a long steeplechase race last week, but since she didn't, we might as well run her again to see how Level II looks.

It appears that Level II isn't much of a threat to Beautiful Ladonia. We'll see about the others, but the only horse with rating levels on par with our horses has been Zanzara Joy, who had speed and acceleration in the 80s.

The jockeys worked out well for a second time riding the same mount- same good comments.

Hopefully when our other horses get more prize money, they will have more races to choose from. Several of them had no available races in the past month, hence the reason you haven't heard from them.

Speaking of that 2.9, I still don't understand how the AI, or however they program it, figures these odds. Invariably, one (or more) of the mounts the game has for a favorite to W/P/Show come in near the back of the pack. How can the horse with the best stats all the way around come off at 13/1 odds. I mean, I'll take it and all, but it's just another example of things that don't seem to work ,or feel, right.

Imperatrice finally gets another shot against inferior competition unfortunately, while Feline should have an easy time. We expect Beautiful Ladonia to have no trouble, as usual, but hope this overconfidence won't come back to bite us in the butt.

The horse is quite hot tempered and difficult to ride. I managed to steady her but it was taxing.

Guess we need a new jockey for her, too. What's worse than bossy, I wonder.

This was an excellent test for Imperatrice, as both Hylas de Suede and Etoile des Hautvents had major ratings in the 80s. The difference I saw was that they had forms in the 80s, also, while Imperatrice had form at 95 as she had not run in a few weeks.

Obviously, as expected, no competition for Feline as every horse in the race had no ratings better than the 50s.

Of course, as seen in the last race, which was all Listed (lowest) level horses, you never know, like Forest Gump, what you're going to get, as 2 of Imperatrice's foes were of highest quality. It's a crapshoot at these levels.

It's the FOFC dynasty version of 'Who shot J.R.' if you're old enough to remember that one.

I would post the results but I can't from work.

Jockey Race Notes:

Wow, what a race. I guess that is what this game was supposed to be like, why people bought it before they figured out all the problems it has.

It was very exciting watching the last part of this race, B. Ladonia in the lead and the other two horses coming closer and closer. Not being quite sure who won until Ladonia's jockey stands up in his stirrups (which the winning jockey does in every race). I actually gave a fist pump on winning. Wish you all could have seen.

On the other hand, no horse in the field had any stat anywhere near Ladonia. All were in the 60s and 70s. However, these horses are Level I National ranked, so I actually expected a close race but, when Ladonia took the lead with 200m to go, I expected that would be that and she would breeze on in, given the ratings dominance she had. It was awesome.

---> Feline has advanced to Level III as a result of her latest race gains.

---> Beautiful Ladonia has advanced to Level I National as a result of her latest race gains.

---> Fame is now 67. Almighty Farms has, with the recent spate of winnings, moved into a tie for 49th place in the rankings.

We hate steeplechase races and we especially hate very long ones like these, especially for Favorite and Hold as they have our lowest endurance ratings. However, these horses have not run, it seems, forever, so we need to get them on the track.

Jockey Race Notes:
Waited inside for much of the race. Ran well in final stretch but never challenged the leader. Hot tempered and difficult to ride.

Man did we screw up. The interval to qualify for this race was large and we didn't think what that would mean, which was that ALL the horses in this race except, of course, for Ursulo, were Level I National horses. Guess he isn't ready for that competition. Thought his very high endurance would get him a win, but it was not to be.

We'll be careful in these steeplechase races for a bit, unless that's all the choice we have.

Horse was sharp. We worked well together. She lacked speed to contend in the stretch.

Damn, first time we have lost in 2 consecutive races. These were only Listed and Level III horses, but Favorite has low stamina and the race was very long, and of course, a stinkin' steeplechase. At least she got some work in.

Ran with the best but lacked stamina. I am disappointed by his behavior. He didn't give his all.

Another steeplechase, another loss. There isn't really much of a way to totally forget this type of race, but we may try to run only the shorter steeplechase races in the near future, though I guess it is stupid (and boring), in a sense, to think we can, or should, win every time out.

The horses in this race are all Level II except Hold. They weren't that great, except Samurai Mystery (great name, I think), who has stats all in the 80s, with endurance that is much higher than Hold. Guess the right horse really did win...this time.

---> Favorite got sick and needs rest to fully recover. At the end of the rest period, it is advised to allow time for fitness excercises.

---> Yearly gains (prize money won) so far total $261,134.

---> The value of our 6 horses has actually dropped a teeny bit to $11,009,510.

---> Fame stood still at 67 but our ranking fell to 51st.

I wonder if the illness has anything to do with all those problems from the feed that was discussed a while back, If so, all the horses will be sick all the time until I figure it out.

Junior, I certainly hope so, though as I said before, I don't know how, or if, this game handles the Triple Crown. I have not seen Pimlico as an available racetrack. I may have to improvise a bit and set my own races in advance when my horses turn 3. (Belmont and Churchill Downs are definitely in the game.)

---> Favorite has fully recovered

---> Cash Guard has left our boarding stable. We now have 17 of the 20 boxes occupied. This is good timing, because...

---> We received an invitation to the spring auction and have accepted. We will see what is offered.

---> Our fame score dropped a point to 66. However, the yo-yo continues because we actually gained a spot to #50 in the rankings.
