Actually, if she turns out to be boring/annoying/otherwiseunattractive, just keep making up stories about how well you two are getting along and keep asking us for advice--I have too much reality in my own life for my vicarious life to take a down turn.

Just a quick update
Just talked to her and she is actually a third year, not a 1L. My mistake! However, we are going to the Cleveland Art Museum this afternoon. As soon as I clean up my stinky ass. For our conversation on the phone, she seems really cool!

Hey... great move... art museum... classy...
You can compare her to the fine artwork, win some major points there. Only don't compare her to the Picassos. ------------------ "That restaurant's so crowded, no one goes there anymore." - Yogi Berra [This message has been edited by Upstate_New_York (edited 03-22-2001).]

I guess I'll start here. We have wonderful Art and Natural History Museums, and the third largest threater district in the Country. So put that in your pipe an smoke it Upstate_New_York, Funny you should say that, they have a Picasso room. The David Reborn: She did first actually! Ok, here is the scoop. I had a fantatic time, she is a wonderful woman. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much! We shall be getting together soon to make plans for a second date! I picked her up at Case and we walked over to the Art Museum. We wowed each other with our combined utter lack of knowledge of anything dealing with the visual arts. She might be more of a cynical smartass than I am, and I didn't think that was possible. Found out she is from Nati (and I won't hold that against her ) and she did go to Tulane as an undergrad. I impressed her with my knowledge of Postmodern Feminism and my ability to get the door and pay for lunch. Oh yeah, she passed my biggest test. One of my biggest issues is that if you unlock the car door for your passenger, they should unlock your door as you walk around the car. It is a respect thing I guess. Well, she passed that test nicely! Anyhow, after the art museum we went to a local psuedo-mexican resturaunt for lunch. we lotiered there until around 5 when I dropped her off at her dorm apartment. We exchanged email addresses and called it a day--she had to go to a required speaker a little bit later so that wrapped things up. Nothing More you pervs. I was a complete gentleman! Anyhow, she is much cuter than I had remembered from the bar (I was inebriated after all--HMMM . . . I guess it works in the other direction as well) and has beautiful big brown eyes--very expressive. All in all, it was a very pleasent way to spend an afternoon, and I hope to see her soon. So There! I guess I am not a waterboy again anymore!

*yawn* Now I'm bored. Although, at first glane, due to your typo, it looked like you said you had a "fanatic" time. Once I realized that wasn't the case, I lost interest.

Ctown - I don't get the car lock thing. I guess it is just one of those things some people notice and others do not.
Of course, I have one of those clickers that unlocks everything, so my truck unlocks by "Magic." --- They have "jello" products out that do not use animal products. --- I am glad that you two hit it off. My tickets to the Jake will be where? I could be available for a home game at the end of June.

Fritz, I have a car door that was busted by the Kent State Saftey Patrol (the one and only time in my life I locked my keys in the car) and now the passengers side is a frigged up.
I never noticed that they had animal free jello. Still probably won't eat the stuff. I have enough issues with pizza places that still use lard in the dough. I might have a spare ticket to a game in July--I'd have to check the dates, but you would be welcome to come up for the game--as long as you promise me you aren't the really stinky guy that used to go the the VA Beach, Hampton, Norfolk computer shows (or you do laundry and take a shower before you visit)

Cool.
As long as it isn't the season opener, it probably won't sell out. Hell, I don't think the opener has even sold out yet. And now for the most important advice I can give you for any Crew game... Don't buy the plastic bottle beer from the vendors (Miller Lite)... sure, you don't have to leave your seat for it, but it tastes like plastic beer. They have draft beer at the concession stand (Bud, Bud Light and Miller Lite). Also, don't let them tell you they don't have Miller Lite on tap. They tried that with my buddy last year - turned out they didn't have it in his line, but they had it 3 lines over. Finally, and most importantly, they stop selling beer with 15 minutes left in the game, so stock accordingly. These are all lessons learned the hard way, and I pass the wisdom to you.

This has been a PSA from the Columbus FOP. No that is great advice for anyone. I know that when we go to Lumberjack games (minor league hockey, but still burly Canadians in Flannel) the trick is to walk to the uncrowded bar. FOr a quarter more you can get really good local microbrew drafts, much better than the usual stuff they sell at sporting event. It does sound like I'll go with my Bowling Beer when I get there.

I have the vegetarian paranoia as well (although I do occasionaly eat meat, chicken and fish generally). I don't think any of the major chains use it anymore, but if you go to a small independant resturaunt you might want to ask. The local pizza place we would go to in Orono still used Lard in making their pizza dough, my ex girlfriend was a vegetarian so we had to pretend when we ate there (which wasn't very often). Their pizza was excellent, but I thought I should be making candles with it or something. I am NOT the stinky guy. I am the obvious shoplifter. You know, the guy who where the oversized trench coat in July. Do you know the guy I am talking about? Always wearing a black leather jacket and had a greasy and stringy long beard? He was really nice and would usually drop a hundred spot at our booth on software. However, you could smell him about 30 feet away. Being the manager at the shows, I had to suck it up and help him with all his questions, I was very nice and polite, which is what every customer deserves, but I just wanted to tell him to shower before he arrived. Have you seen that man? So, if I am going to pester you into a ticket I think it will have to be for later in the season when the tempatures drop some. Well, you might be out of luck there. I am pretty sure all the late season games are already sold out. We are trying to keep "The Steak" intact, and everyone wants to go to the exciting late season games.

C-Town,
It is funny that you mentioned the whole driver side door lock thing. With the girl I am dating now, she unlocks the thing consistently. But come to think of it, my ex-girlfriend would only unlock the door, most times, when I would tap on the glass for a little help. Everything is starting to become a lot clearer now...interesting. All those warning signs that you never notice till years later...

I have laughed my arm off (Note: respecting the_classic's wish to keep my ass out of the forum). I have gotten to know you guys a little better and that is really cool. I am a little concerned about the voyeristic nature of the board I wonder who will post their man boobs on the "Rate my Rack" website. So we all can judge them (Oh wait that happened in the what the Hell do you look like thread). Also, it helped me to relax a little when I could have been sitting around stressing about the whole situation. Especially when most of my friends are vehement in their opposition to me dating another (future) lawyer. I keep telling them that I try to keep good relations with my ex-girlfriends so I can get that pro bono help I will proabably need in the future. All in all, I guess I have to give you guys two thumbs up! I am touched. Doggone it Fritz, not in that way!!

Pat's uses lard, and I don't think I ever ate at Pizza King. However, Pizza Dome had great $7 large cheese pizzas. They didn't taste all that good, but they were bigger than a tire--and on a grad stipend a good deal. Especially after a night at the Bear Brew when you couldn't really taste it anyway Anyhow, we did go to Pat's quite a bit, not for the pizza, but for the Sea Dog Hazelnut Porter (2.50 a pint). MMMM, good stuff. [This message has been edited by Ctown-Fan (edited 03-23-2001).]

Pizza King?
We had one of those in West Lafayette, never much a fan of it, but that did have cheep beer, that is what I am a fan of. The TV commercial for PK was wack as hell. It had a 3D computer animated, cartoonish looking, king with a pizza in his hand talking with an Italian accent. Also Gene Keady was in the commercial. It was the only time I never saw Gene yelling at someone!

There used to be a Pizzeria Uno's in Ann Arbor, but it closed down. Not a big deal, though, since there is still the Cottage Inn and Pizza House there.
There's still a few Uno's around, though. One in West Bloomfiled, and one in Birch Run, that I know of. Good stuff. ------------------ "Will teach for TCY" |
