Bah. That penalty killed us. Just gave the Colts 3 points right back.

Some random thoughts:

1) Alex Smith has a stronger arm than I remember. I also agree with the post by crapshoot. They should be opening things up. Alex seems a lot more comfortable from teh shot gun. On another note, don't be so stupid 49ers. The last thing you want to do is give Manning time to get points. Really, really stupid penalty.

2) I expected Baltimore to come out fired up. I thought the Ravens might put a beatdown on Denver today. I'm thrilled it's only a 6 point game at halftime. (now it's a 13 point game) ouch.

3) The Giants are in shambles.

4) The Jets don't look much better.

5) The Texans need to stop screwing around if they want to be taken seriously.

quick dola:

Without turnovers by the Ravens, I think this game is over. i don't see Denver sustaining two long drives to get 14 points on the Ravens.

Great starting field position plus a few nice passes by Manning led to a 30+ yd FG.

Denver, with the help of a questionable pass interference penalty, is down on the Ravens 6 yard line. It's 4th and 1 coming up. Denver calls a time out. Huge, huge play coming up.

edit: Denver has been horrific on 3rd/4th and 1's this year. One of the biggest problems on the team.

I don't know what the answer is, but the appearance of refs giving people calls when they cry and beg for it needs to change.

Yeah. When your last line of defense goes from Kenny Phillips to CC Brown, it's only a matter of time before you start getting blown out. Especially when the pressure on the QB isn't there.

In total seriousness, if you broke down all of the passing TDs from the past 3 weeks, I'd be surprised if CC Brown wasn't primarily responsible for more of them than the rest of the team combined. Every passing TD, it seems like he's cheating to the inside, cheating up close, biting on play fakes...he's always out of position. When you have a safety who doesn't get it that he's ALWAYS playing pass first...this is what happens.

(/end rant)

Ravens offside. I think Denver doesn't make it if it isn't an offside. It was a quick pass to Marshall who danced too much and got tackled right at the line.

1st and goal from the 3.

Brandon Marshall is lucky the Ravens jumped because instead of falling forward for the first down after making the first guy miss. He danced around and didn't get the yard needed.

Local radio this week had a suggestion to call a flag on the player who begs for the penalty flag to be thrown.

Make it some kind of unsportsmanlike conduct penalty but not of the 15 yd. variety.

As a Broncos fan, I can tell you safety play is critical. Of all the changes on the team this year, the addition of Brian Dawkins and Renaldo Hill has been the biggest.

On the Broncos first and goal play, Moreno gained a yard and Ngata is down on the field with an injury.

I have been thinking the same thing for a while. It seems like every incomplete pass the receiver is jumping up waving for a flag

Ngata walked off the filed, but is out of the game. PI on Ravens (Ray Lewis).

1st and goal on the one.

TD Moreno.

13-6 (extra point pending)

Ginn returns a kickoff for a TD!

Finally doing what he can do. Let's not put him back in the starting lineup.

I think he would make an excellent #3 due too his speed but he should never be on the edge ever.

Peyton Manning has gone down a la Jim Everett at least twice today. It's a little weird how quickly he's going down.

Niners get their 3rd sack today. Manning only had been sacked twice all season.

Now if only the offense can get us 10-14 more points.

Another quick note in the Broncos/Ravens game. Kelly Washington has like two catches for 19 yards. The way he's celebrated after the two catches you'd think they were 98 yard TD catches where he singlegandedly injured the entire 11 players on the defense while the crowd bowed to him like a God.

It's amazing how pathetic he looks after catching a 9 yard pass.

Looks like the rook coughed it up. Hopefully, they say Crabtree's arms was on the turf before the ball was loose.

It was clear it went forward. He was at the 37 when he released it and Osi was at the 35 when he caught it. His momentum made it so he was still lateral to Osi when Osi caught it, but that is irrelevant.

The defense is going to need to create a turnover as we are currently -2 in that category if this play stands.
