The Cowboys have about four plays: HB Delay, WR screen, WR slant, and TE cross. The Eagles have yet to figure this out, and even if they did, they couldn't stop it.

Sigh. Tough to see the McNabb era end like this.

Well McNabb needs to come around here and get some momentum before going into halftime.

After the Texas game, this comes as some relief.

With 3 timeouts, I think Dallas needs to go for the kill here.

So: Dallas @ Minnesota and Saints vs Packers/Cards.

Should be a fun weekend next week.

I got my tickets. Not counting the Eagles out just yet though. Tons of big play ability on that team.

The only bright side is that this should ensure that Wade is in Dallas for at least a few more years.

is there a mercy rule in playoff football? Sheesh. Talk about two bad weeks. From a probable first round bye to an utter collapse.

Will the Eagles draft a QB to groom as a replacement for McNabb?
Maybe an offensive line that can do a better job of protecting the QB?

Eagle fans have every right to be pissed about the last 2 weeks of utter garbage from their team.

Dallas against Minn sounds like a good game. We have a pretty good record against the aged vet going back to the early 90's.

Damn! I forgot to check beforehand whether this could be considered a big game for Tony Romo.

Ware is going to cause us a lot of problems. I think it will be a low scoring game.

Whoever has a bigger game between Adrian Peterson and Miles Austin will likely decide it.

Now that Felix is getting the ball that scares me as well. I was hoping for a full dose of Barber knowing he wouldnt be able to do much.

Its not, they're winning big and other people have touched the football for the Cowboys. Plus, did you see all the picks Tony almost threw? Sheesh.

Nah, he'll be back to frustrate us Eagles fans next year. Just like Reid will be here until he decides he wants to leave. We'll continue to be a 9-7 - 11-5 type team who loses playoff games on the road.

I'd rather just be a 2-14 team and have no hope than to go through this shit every year.

In a way yes.

Take the Sixers for example. This year is great, they've finally realized that that path to success is bottoming out, not just adding enough pieces year in and year out to be competitive.

At least they don't throw snowballs with batteries in them.

Or cheer for a team that put bounties on players heads.

Or cheer when a player is down hard on the turf not getting up.

I don't think Philly fans can really talk about class.

Like cheering when Michael Irvin is lying on his back with a career ending neck injury.

Or putting a bounty on a kicker.

Or doing the hoochie koochie dance when Philly was winning 44-6 last year.

We don't forget.

Anyone have a good read on this Patriots/Ravens game?

I know the Ravens were pretty pissed off after they played the first time but thats about all I have. And Flacco hasnt played his best ball the 2nd half of the season.

I guess I should have clarified - Most Philly fans are pretty classless. Especially the ones who go to the games. I'll be the first person to agree with you on that.

What I was referring to was not that the crowd was chanting the song, that's well within their right as a fan. But to have the music blaring through the PA system is pretty bad. Fans of a lot of teams are idiots, we all know that - but to come from an organization (they're the one hitting the play button on the song), is pretty bad.

All in all, not a HUGE deal (I agree the batteries, cheering injured players, etc is much worse). Just thought it was strange that the taunting was coming from official stadium personnel.

What's worse..

playing a song

or have an employee of another team come in, and spit on the midfield Star and then post on the teams official website?

Eagles employee spits on the blue star, and videotapes it | ProFootballTalk.com

In the grand scheme of things? Probably a tie.

One is really all about trash talking before a big game. The other is digging a knife into someone you already beat. Really two different things, but I do see your point.

It's a shame that a few people give an entire fanbase a bad name. But as long as people want to perpetuate the stereotype of the classless Philly fan, it will continue. I imagine it will never go away.

Every fanbase has their jackasses. It's just that nobody wants to point those out, and instead point at Philly fans. It gets annoying, especially when I try to be respectful of every team, even if I can't stand them.

I guess this whole "respect your opponent" thing is too idealistic. ; )

Congratulations to the Cowboys; they dominated the last two weeks. Next week will be interesting, for sure.

As another Philly fan, I agree with you on getting "lumped in" with the rest of the idiots. It's really a shame, but what are you going to do, you know?

As for the Cowboys, they completely dominated in all phases of the game. I really think they'll end up representing the NFC in the SB this year.

What's so strange about the whole thing is how bad/average this team was before that Saints game. Something woke them up, that's for sure.

Because they beat up on a team that beat all of 0 teams that made the playoffs this year lets not make them better than they are.

Cowboys winning in Minnesota and New Orleans(when the game means something to them) is going to be a VERY difficult task.

Cowboys have a great defense but their offense is shaky at best against teams that actually play defense

Not that I'm trying to condone this behavior, but I think Irvin elicited a reaction that might not have occurred had it been any other player. Once a boss of mine asked us at lunch to name our most hated sports figures. My answer was Michael Irvin, and my answer was immediate. Nobody else was even close. A similar "Top 5 Hated" question floated around Facebook not long ago, and over ten years later Irvin was still on lists.

I had respect for Aikman, Emmitt, Novacek, Johnston, etc. Irvin I always considered a self-aggrandizing jackass.

But he came from The U.

That makes anything he does or did ok, because, "hey we are The U."

At least that is what I learned on 30 for 30 on ESPN.

I agree with this. I hate Irvin, always have and always will, but for a philly fan to get all indignant because another tea is being unsporting is absurd. I grew up in Jersey. Philly fans are by far the biggest group of scum I have ever been around. The argument that every fan base has some bad apples is nonsense. If that was the case than why don't people say chiefs fans are scum or Jags fans are assholes. Where there is smoke there is fire. Philly fans have such a shit name for a reason.

Funny, because as a Packer fan I did NOT want the Packers going to Minnesota for a playoff game unless it is the NFC Championship game (of course if they both make it that far). I would just prefer to skip over Packers vs. Favre for a third time this year, I am tired of it. The end of the season was very enjoyable with the two games behind us and over with. Of course I am in big Cowboys country and them winning makes the so-called fans down here very annoying, so I have already decided I will actually cheer on the Vikings next weekend because the fair-weather Cowboy fans need to be sent into hiding again.

We've traded places, as I'm a Cowboy fan deep in the heart of Packer country.

Packer fans around here have quite an unusual Brett Favre fetish.

Stop, or I'm going to have to bump the early season NFL threads where Lathum declared the Giants to be the best team in the league.

Newsflash: There are asshole fans who follow every team. They act like jackasses because they are jackasses. Those of our rivals just get more magnified because they follow....our rivals.
