Ah what great memories. I remember I original board game from around 1987.
What other sports came can stop because a team has no one left to put on the field?

Been too damn busy of late. I think I'm home with the kids for a while today though. I might try to slip a game in if the little one naps. It is just too hard to concentrate on watching them as well as playing Blood Bowl every few minutes.

I think everything we have left is either dorfs v elves (which I'd rather leave til I've got a couple more players on those teams) or undead v elves (not til I have my wight. I need people who can run!). If there's a game other than that - my elves v your elves/skaven - I'd be up for it.

Game's finished now. Didn't get enough for a new wight, frustratingly, but I did get two skill bonuses, both to ghouls. One rolled a +ma; the other got a +st. The receiving corps(es) is starting to look good.

Oh yeah, and we're still perfect.

Bonegavel, if you're still looking to play I've got time for another.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I can really only think of one misplay you made, and it wound up costing you the game because I managed to pull off a long pass with two unskilled ghouls.

The one play I'd criticize was your moving your blitzer towards the ball on turn 7. He was never going to get there and could've been helping cover my two ghouls instead - making me work a bit harder for the winning catch. Apart from that, you played a very good game. You would've deserved the draw if I hadn't completed that pass.

Yeah, playing Foz & me in quick succession isn't really the best way to get good results .

thats true, that did cost me the game. I made a lot of little mistakes though, and those add up in the end.

Dola: Im just beginning to think that I should have taken a less bashy team. I have had fun playing with them, but they seem geared towards advanced coaches.

Actually thats the opposite from what i hear. The basher teams are easier to play imo.

The AGI teams take more skill. Gotta postion players better and use your guys skills more. Like leap/frenzy/dodge etc..

My DE team is completely cursed eitherway. Lost the luck-o-metter 13 out of my 15 games. And its worse then that actually. For example, my last game i played lizzies. He gets perfect defense both times i get the ball in the first half.

And with 7 guys on the field for him with 4 str(or more) and 6 MA vs my DE's with noone with 4 STR, i couldn't crack his line anywhere. He just stacked the LOS with the perfect defense thing and i was screwed. I also had 3 turns end on failed dodge with AGI 4. Thats a 1 in 12 shot and it happened 3 turns in a row. )i think that was the lizzy game, might have been the game before).

I also lost to a skaven team in the worse possible way. Tied 2-2 on turn 7, i have a nice cage going near the sideline and im 6 squares from the endzone. He has one guy that can reach me but he needs to 'go for it' twice to make it and 1 of those means moving into a TA from a TA. He does it, hits my guy(no rerolls) with a 1 dice roll. I fumble, the ball goes out of bounds, gets thrown back in right next to a gutter runner in the middle of the field. He easily scores on turn 8. I lose..... this happens to me on a regular basis. I like this game alot, But i swear i think im doing something wrong.

When the luck-o-meter is close, im actually doing pretty well. Probally .500 or so. I lost a bunch with my orcs when i first started them, but over my last 7 games i have 4 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.

My Dwarves are 3 and 2 and i've only played 1 game with my high elf team and that was a tie. Considering i played most of that game with 7-9 players, i'd say that it was a success.

Now i have done a few dumb things mind you. With my DE's i tied a Necro team 2-2 in a game where he had just about everything go his way. But i really should have won, on turn 8 of the second half i had a VERY VERY good chance to score, plus i had a reroll. But i accidently hit the turn button and ended my turn after moving only 2 guys.

Just plain stupied!!!!

BTW, nomination for the 2006 Dungeon Bowl Finals are open:

The Rules are Simple: Any coach with a team in the group is allowed to put ONE team forward for play in the Dungeon Bowl Finals (coaches who weren't in the group games can put new teams in, but of course, since you can only play group games with your group team, taking a TR 100 team into the Finals is.. less then advised.)

To nominate a team, do it all caps (if your FUMBBL name is different from your coach name, let me know.)

you can unnominate teams, and nominate new teams if your existing nomination gets beat up too severely.

How Teams will be seeded for the final. (If I can set up tournament final brackets)

1/3rd= Total Points from the Group Stage
1/3rd= Average Points per game
1/3rd= Team Rating

So, as an example only, when it comes to seeding: The Reikland Reavers finished 4th in the group stage standings, 5th in the average points per game rating, but have avoided the injury bug and have the best TR of all playoff teams.

4th in Standings=1.33 Points (4/3=1.333)
5th in Average Points=1.66 (5/3)
1st in Team Rating=0.33 (1.3)

So total for the Reavers=3.32 Points

THe Orcland Raiders played all over the place, and led the group in points (1st), but they played a lot more games then other teams (6th in average PPG) and they ran into a chainsaw weilding maniac in the last game that cost them two players (6th in TR)

So 1/3= 0.33 for Points
6/3=2.00 for Points per game
and 6/3=2.00 for TR

The Raiders would get 4.33 Rating points, and thus be ranked behind the Reavers for the playoffs. I think the Orcs will have a little something something to say to the seeding committee...
