Dola - line of the week - No. 12 Oklahoma State (+9.5) at Oklahoma.

How often is a ranked team a 10-point underdog against a 5 loss team?

True... though I did expect it to be in the 6-7 range just due to the fact that OSU never (2001 excluded) plays well in Norman and OU has been SO much better at home this year. I suppose the Robinson injury plays into it as well. My advice? Don't touch it.

If Wyoming beats CSU, they become Bowl eligible and head to a bowl game. They should've been already, but choked down the stretch. But if they win the Bronze Boot game, they'll claim the rivalry trophy for the first time in a while (I was at the last time they won) and they'll head most likely to the New Mexico Bowl.

Which is lame, but I'm all for seeing them on national TV for once and it'll affirm the work their new coach is doing.

I hope they don't choke.

Great start for Auburn. First they stop Alabama, then they connect on a pass that turns into a 67 yard TD. Auburn up 7-0.

Everything stats are showing != mediocre offense.

No real way to talk around that. A&M just does not have a mediocre offense.

Is it just me or is the announcing in this Bama Auburn game notedly slanted?

I have checked twice to make sure this is a network broadcast and not a home affiliate.

4th on 3 on the 50 yard line. Wyoming up 17-16 with 38 seconds left in the 4th quarter.... CSU has the ball.

Does sound pretty pro-Bama.

Meanwhile the Tigers don't care, just came up with a big stop on 4th & 1 near midfield.

Wyoming intercepts. Game over. Pokes win 17-16. We're going bowling. I'll take a 6-6 season. An improvement over the disappointments over the past few years. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Please, Auburn. Beat Alabama. I don't want to have to watch them in the title game. I'd take TCU/Texas before Bama/anybody

It won't destroy the BCS. It'll just be cited as why it's successful. But it'd be fun to see in any case.

It's kind of funny to see all the death of the BCS scenarios thrown around each year, but the only thing that will bring down the BCS is if people actually stop going to and watching the games.

Christensen was always well liked at Mizzou, and well thought of. I wasnt sure he was head-coach material to be honest, but I really hope he does well there for you guys.

Wyoming has proven to be a pretty good place for people to jump start coaching careers over the years for more than a few guys. But that was before the 90s. Our last coach won titles at D2 and 1-AA, but clearly was in over his head at FBS level. Christensen could stay for a long time if he's taking us to bowl games, it doesn't matter which ones. The bar is set fairly low.

Our team is young, we had a freshman QB for most of the year (the backup is a transfer junior) and I guess they decided to get the kid in there early to give him the experience. Which I didn't like at first, but it seems it's paid off in the end.

This was easily the toughest schedule in Wyoming history.

Six losses but those loses were against BYU, Texas, Colorado, Utah and TCU. They should've beaten Air Force, but going on the road and losing 10-0 isn't anything to be ashamed of and would've been nice to see them beat CU after putting up a good half at home against Texas, but again...road game and not an easy place (Especially for them) to win.

So I'm thinking so long as he recruits better than the last guy (And I sincerely believe he will) that he'll be fine, because our problem has always been offensive production and he's seemed to solve that problem by and large.

Tough loss for Auburn, who outplayed Bama for major stretches of the day & came out much more prepared.

The one thing I do love about him is that he has said many time he recruits athletes over football players. Something along the lines of "I can teach anyone to catch or block, I cant teach size and speed". While it is by no means full-proof, and you will have hits and misses, I really think they try to bring in kids with a higher ceiling even if they are more of a project then most. Now you have to trust him to coach them up, but I have no doubts Wyoming will be a faster team and more exciting to watch in the future, winning or losing.

My guess would be they need a head coach in there ASAP with recruiting trips starting. Once Kelly turned them down they probably got a little freaked out and had to go with a guy who has name recognition.

I do think it speaks volumes about the state of Notre Dame and the Big East that Kelly turned them down. Plus you have Schiano who chose to stay at RU instead of bolt to Michigan a few years ago.

And their coach decides to be very conservative and just run it 1 more time before running the clock down to 3 seconds. It will be a 44 yard attempt. I would have run it at least 1 more time to try to make it a bit closer.

That was a redshirt freshman that hit that kick. Great gameplan by the staff and the secondary played their best game of the year. Stew also coached aggressively up until that last kick. Great game all around.

I've been noticing lately how conservative coaches are getting with end of the game drives - I've seen a number of games where a team has time left to run multiple extra plays and get closer to the end zone, but instead elect to burn the clock down and then kick the FG. I suppose they're more concerned about the possibility of a fumble than the potential gain of more yardage (or even breaking free for a TD).

I nearly froze to death, but enjoyed getting a little bit of revenge against Pitt. Hopefully, we can beat Rutgers next week, Stanford can beat Notre Dame tomorrow, and Cincy can beat Pitt next week. If so, we should get one last shot in the Gator Bowl, hopefully against Virginia Tech or Miami. WVU-VPI would sell out the Gator Bowl -- I'd love to see that.

There's been speculation that the Gator would take WVU over the loser of Cincy/Pitt regardless of what else happens. A Notre Dame team with a lame duck coach apparently isn't too appeasing and neither Pitt nor Cincy are known for selling tickets.

With that said, I'd be happy with a win over Rutgers next week and simply letting everything else work itself out.

Anybody have an idea why Pornstache didn't use his a timeout when there was at least 20 seconds on the clock before WVU ran it down for the kick?

It was only 2nd down. WVU could have just run another play up the gut with essentially the same result, with the risk that the FG gets much closer (vs a very minor chance that there is a fumble/turnover, I guess).

One of the more reliable insiders on the WVU messageboard said that Chris Peterson will become UVA's new head coach. I'm guessing Groh gets the boot after tomorrow's game and Peterson will probably move along before a bowl game.

If he is correct, it will be interesting to see how Peterson does, both in a BCS conference and so far from his "home" recruiting area.
