Nice win for Boise St. at Oregon. The Broncos have a shot to run the table with a pretty similar schedule to the '06 Fiesta Bowl season (and perhaps better, if Oregon can find a QB and Fresno St. can stay ranked).

Sparty looked okay, but wow ND is bad. Just goes to show how AWFUL Michigan was last week giving that game to them.

Gonna' be another rough one for Weis & co.

Dola,

If Ringers goes down with an injury, MSU is a 6 win team, he is so fucking good. He is that offense. With him I still say 8-4

Sunburned and disappointed. Effing freshman mistakes. About even with Bama in total yards and lose 49-14. Hooray turnovers and penalties.

edit and yeah Senior mistakes too. What a game Casey Dick. Wow.

What a joke. This should be great for recruiting, let's see if Schiano can get any worse on gameday. For the second straight week, RU comes out after the half and gets bulldozed for the first 10 minutes. Does he just let them nap in the locker room?

Texas just had a perfect flea flicker for 60 yards on their first play of the drive to go up 21-3.

LSU Auburn is the usual war thus far.

I think Scott will end up being the difference. If I were Crowton I would give Auburn a taste of their own spread medicine out of the shotgun/pistol; run draws with Scott when Auburn safeties play back and have Hatch attack the courners with short runs and passes if they try to stack the middle.

At least this means Joe Glenn will be fired this year. I can handle that. D-1A is not for him. He's not a good recruiter and not a very good coach. Hiring too many of his buddies from I-AA as coordinators.

Not gonna cut it, pal.

Sorry.

Of course, the AD doesn't inspire confidence at UW. He hired some hack assistant from Fresno State to coach the basketball team and that guy's recruits look like deer in the headlights. So really, I dunno what's worse, the devil you know or the one you don't.

Rice just had 12 snaps inside the Texas 10, and couldn't score. A very impressive goal line stand by the Horns, the two PI calls notwithstanding.

Shurg, I disagree. Our defense is respectable - Bruton and Bryan Smith are playmakers and our cornerbacks can cover decently (they still can't tackle). All our skill position players on offense are sophomores or below, and Floyd/Tate are good. Our kickers are terrible, but the rest of the special teams are pretty good - (I know it's not a huge part of the game, but our punt coverage has been spectacular.) Lastly, the biggest thing in our favor is the schedule. MSU is probably 3rd in the Big Ten, and we don't have a tougher game on the schedule until @USC to end the regular season. Nothing like Stanford's/Pitt's/Syracuse's at home to mask deficiencies.

Let's not forget ND was down 6 most of the 4th quarter despite turning the ball over twice in the red zone, missing 2 FG's and throwing an INT to Mich St at their own 22 that led to MSU's 1st TD. We were beat by mistakes, two great players (Ringer/Wiley) and a good pass rush.

(Props to DeToxRox for the preview. About as accurate as a 2 sentence summary can get. I sure know who Otis Wiley is now.)

Colt McCoy had 323 yards of total offense in the first half. He was 15 of 18 for 269 yards, 2 TDs with no picks, and he also ran 6 times for 54 yards and a TD.

Well NCSU shocks me.
And Clemson looks as bad as possible winning 54-0.

The O-Line is atrocious.
The D actually played better, I guess. Who knows how bad these 1-AA teams are.

A mild QB controversy is coming for Clemson. Last years golden boy and pre season ACC POY Cullen Harper struggles again and throws 2 picks today as well as has 3 more dropped, the fans booed loudly. Local golden boy RS Freshman Willy Korn (led Byrnes HS to back-back state championships and lost in the champ game his senior year when the team finished 3rd in the country according to USA today) goes 7-7 and scrambles several times for good gains, as well as lowers his head on a scramble to pick up the first down after Bowden criticizes Harper last week for not taking a hit....the fans were clammering before the game was over.

For anyone who cares, De'Quan Bowers is a stud. A true Freshman who hasn't been blocked all year, even by Bama. They just ran away.

Looking at the Pac Ten this year, there's USC and then there's nobody else. I've been pretty hard on the ACC this year, but they might actually be better than the Pac Ten.

Yeah, the PAC-10 has been a disaster so far this year. Oregon may have found a QB, but I don't see them challenging USC....Cal has started their descent early this year....Arizona may actually finish second in the PAC-10 this year.

For Georgia? Quite possibily. The O-line looks like they can't block anybody. And Moreno has had some great plays, but he also keeps falling down untouched. I don't know if he has the wrong cleats or if something else is bothering him.

You may be right there. On other news, this might be A.J. Green's comming out party. It has been a very long time since the Dawgs had a reciever that had great hands. Plenty of guys that had great athletic abilities, but they all had hands of stone. This guy looks like he might be the real deal.

Is there a bigger tease year in and year out then Arizona State? They always start off slow, end big, and go into the next year as a dark horse. It has to be maddening to be a fan of theirs.
