The word that comes to mind is undisciplined.

Good to know Lendale recovered well from his leaping off a building earlier this year.

Incredibly stupid. I mean, he's five yards out of bounds, don't touch him. This isn't difficult.

Three major mistakes in teh game so far.

1) Bush being indecisive and running out the kick. Ridiculous. Texas has as many athletes as you guys do. Either run it or don't, delays aren't going to work against this team.

2) Texas punt returner. Horrible. Just horrible. You get a three and out stop and you do that.

3) Texas hitting Leinhart out of bounds. May not have cost them in yardage, but it turned a second and goal after a great defensive play into a first and goal.

Now the question is how the Texas offense will react. They can't go three and out or commit a dumb turnover. USC becomes a machine when they get rolling. Texas needs a first down or two at the very least.

I don't know if I can blame the guy that fumbled the ball - he pretty much got murdered.

Texas defense has got to make a stand here, or Southern Cal grabs ALL of the momentum.

Texas needs a defensive stop.. if USC really gets momentum, it'll be tough to stop.

Time for a long pass to Jarrett and then a Bush run for a TD.

It was a great hit and he did get killed. But that won't be the last hard hit in this game. You have to hold onto the football. The situation is what hurt more than anything there. Texas had a chance to really set a tone and instead ends up putting USC in perfect position to attack.

I don't care how hard you're hit, you just can't do that. (for reference, look at the catch the USC fullback had)

And stupid play #4: No way Texas should have a fourth down against SC where Young isn't the guy either running or passing. Now USC gets the ball in great field position again.

I don't mind going for it there, but if you do, your best guy gets it.

This is certainly about as bad as things could go for Texas early.

Unfortunately, living 15 miles from Southern Cal, I see this all too much

If Leinart learns to throw again, this game is even uglier. USC's offense is too quick for Texas' D

What is up with the right side of USC's line? It seems like the DE has been in the backfield on every passing play.

UT needs to stop giving SC extra opportunities. They are good enough already without these extra chances.

OK, let me get this straight, White runs over the Texas CB and gets tackled. While on the ground the Texas CB starts talking trash to him?

Ummmm, OK.

we're 20 minutes behind on tivo so i'm trying not to read anything else. I see Dan Fouts and Kieth Jackson and say "oh, that's a pretty solid announcing combo" and oliegirl says "never heard of either of them"

Girls are weird. That, and I'm usually pleasantly suprised by Oliegirl's football knowledge, so that threw me a bit.

Agreed, that was simply letting your emotions get the better of you. I like Texas going for it (but hated the play call), but USC going for it their wasn't the wisest move.
