During the game Randy Cross mentioned the Steeers hadn't had a good TE since Benji Cunningham and if you remembered him you were a true Steeler fan. I immediately yelled, "It's Bennie Cunningham and did you forget Eric Green" Great drive and great run by Jerome on that 3rd and 4... He just kept the legs moving as he should have been 2 yards short.

Ward and the Riverdance. T.O. and that lame cocktail waitress pantomine. What is happening to touchdown celebrations lately?
McCardell mocking the cocktail waitress dance was funny, though. |

Stephen Davis with a bye and Julius Jones with an injury made me start Clinton Portis this week.
I'm happy. |

Ward's dance was mocking Chad Johnson's dance from a few weeks ago.

I missed that subtlety. Perhaps he should have held up a sign beforehand saying, "NFL please don't fine me, I'm about to mock Chad Johnson." |

We need to start an "idiotic" announcer comment thread every week.
Watching the Steeler/Bengal game and Polamalu gets torched and comes up with air on a running play. Great play by the Bengal WR. But then the announcer goes overboard. . . "We heard a lot about Polamalu coming into this game, but he hasn't been much of a factor" Umm. . . what the hell are you talking about? Chad Johnson has 3 catches for 47 yards. Carson Palmer is throwing for a little over 5 yards per pass attempt. The Bengals have 6 total points. Did all of this happen without the safeties being a big part of the game? Just because he hasn't made an INT or forced a fumble doesn't mean he hasn't had a solid football game. Morons. The Chargers scored on a long drive. The Eagles respond with two more pass attempts in three plays and shank a punt. Last edited by TroyF : 10-23-2005 at 02:32 PM. |

I really had no opinion of Cross but thought he was okay, but today he has been awful. I guess he still is mad at the Steelers for cutting him as a rookie. I also have never liked Harlan, too much fake enthusiasm on every play.

scary to think that without 2 receivers, the steelers wouldn't have 14 points. I like that Palmer is getting the ball spread out. May be because he is being forced to.

Eric Green was a beast.
And while Mark Bruener never develolped as a receiver people thought he would, he was the best blocking TE in football for about a five year period. |

Ahman Green is down and out. Right knee. Carted off.
The injuries for Green Bay are insane this year. Vikings have the momentum in this game big time now, too. Packers will end up losing this game I think.

OK, now the Eagles are trailing.
They've been tied or ahead all game and McNabb has thrown it this much. He may fire it up there 70 times today. |

Is that the second or 3rd knee injury that Green has had in his career? Didn't he have one in Seattle before he went to the packers?

Yep, and after that McNabb INT, the Chargers could score here and essentially end this game. The amusing thing? We are just starting the fourth quarter. The Eagles have attempted to throw the ball 50 times and they've called 8 running plays. And the last play that resulted in the INT was a play action pass. |

Then a holding pushed them back. The Eagles will be coming with an all out blitz this play. And they'll be keying on LT. Putting Gates and LT on one side of the field and throwing to McCardell will result in a TD here. |

How can you call a holding at the 1 yard line? I am sorry, but no. That just smells like, "I want to keep this game close enough for McNabb to make a comeback." IE making the NFL more exciting.

How moronic. How absolute idiotic can you be? You have to know the Eagles are going to be calling an all out blitz from both sides. And you do a standard 7 yard drop? Idiots.

So the Eagles get a reprive. Down 7 now. Still 9+ minutes to go to start the drive. Here is a novel idea, lets throw it a few times. 3 and out.
If this were Mike Martz, people would be calling for his head. Just pathetic play calling by the Eagles in this one. |

Great kick by Edinger from 56 after a poor snap and it would've been good from near 65.

The Saints were just robbed by the refs, but didn't have any timeouts left to call a challenge of the play (which happened just before the 2 minute warning sounded and time actually went under 2 minutes.)

Rams get a TD on what has to be the worst call by a ref this season. Saints receiver was lying on the ground with the ball after being tackled. Rams player takes the ball out of his hands and returns it for a TD.

I have to say that the announcing team for the pitt/cincy game was the single worst effort I have ever in my life listened too.
What game are these guys watching? Utter incompetance. As for the game itself, I wasn't impressed with Pittsburgh, Cincinnati made so friggin many mistakes its just sickening. We're still in the lead, but we gotta learn to win the big ones. |

Saw the last 4th and 1 for the Eagles. Fricken unreal. I don't know what to say. That was a horrible call and execution on a 4th and 1 from an apparent horrible game by the Eagles.

I realize we are looking at the game through different lenses, but after the first 2 series, the Steelers defense got pressure on Palmer and stopped the run. The dropped pass by Henry was a key play in the game, but I didn't see that many other big mistakes. The only other key play was Thurman being offsides on that 3rd down play but it was the right call. The Bengals need to improve that run defense. The Steelers average 4.7 yards per carry. Against top teams that just won't due. As for being in the lead, the only reason is because the Bengals haven't had the bye. With both teams with 2 losses, I'd call it a dead heat.

I think that's a great call on a tough play by that official in the Philly/SD game.

Ref is not going to overturn that in Philly, and he still had possession when his knee hit the ground. It was slipping, but it wasn't out of his grasp yet.
