Our LBs continue to show up, but there is Diaz being the star again....Im dissapointed we let 50 up, and got no sacks...i just wonder how much of that is us just giving them the ball soo much on offense, and im not sure we are getting long drives right now...we need to get back up...we have a losing record, and its sad...

Well, at least we can beat the teams we are supposed to beat.
CB Diaz had an unbelievable game and is now #2 in the nation with 8 int's! Quite impressive and we have him for one more year. Last game vs K-State, the defense was set to a 3-4 for the first time, I don't know what happened, but it's back to a 4-3. Also, Ardent likes the single back formation, which is why we're seeing the rash in passing. Todd |

Our S Diaz is a god...i love this kid....were looking at team captain next year....almost regardless of what he does the rest of the year. Stinemetz and moss both got picks, but our 4th secondary starter, CB Stephenson, is still nowhere to be seen. Martinez continues to play above his talent. Our line comes back and we win....if we can get a pash rush we will win, that is m new hypothesis...good gamer against a team we should kill.

I fully believe that blowout vs K-State was due to the 3-4 screwup. Anyhow, this is the email I just recieved from the NCAA: Quote:

53 total yards!?!?
As I approach the Texas head coach to shake hands, I whisper in his ear, "You just handed me the worst beating I've taken since coming here last year." He just smiled at me and I'll never forget that feeling I had as his team left our field. I'm bummed out and totally exhausted after that beat down. I drove to a park close by the school and as I stared into the sky I would be lying if I told you I didn't think about giving this up and going back to my normal job as a computer technician. Can't quit now, I thought. It'll get worse before it gets better, but I hope this is the bottom. Todd |

Ouch...lets just get to colorado, as were past all the powerhouses on our schedule(maybe not nebraska, but we held them last year with our back-up Qb...id say we have a good shot...) Lets just get back to a winning record.

Recruiting Update:
T Kelly Gonzalez from Bullitt East high school in Mount Washington, Kentucky has agreed to attend Missouri University. Kelly made the All-State team and was ranked #9 by Rivals.com. Our scout who is terrible with offensive linemen, rates Kelly a 73 out of 100. His strength is pass protection and is weakness is run blocking. My impression is he's much worse than scouted. Todd |

wow....i am beyond unhappy...Anderson had a nice game, best yet by a DE, and Stinemetz played well as usual...but god damn did they ever throw all over us...This team is just too demoralized after those blowout losses....I wonder how good that T really is since our scout is terrible...Logan, a DT, got our only pick...not acceptable... back to the drawing board...

Our offense has been anemic to put it nicely. Next year some BIG changes are in store for this team offensive wise. I don't think Ardent's coming back, so I'm going to look over this offense and see what direction we need to go for the next few years.
I want to revamp the coaching staff in some places as well. The defense has been a bright spot this year and I'm hoping to help you out by getting this offense in order. It doesn't help you when the offense is going 3 and out time after time. Todd |

You still going to be contributing? Payne and Willig are interesting to say the least, but Willig isnt tossing 5 picks a game. Im not going to question your calls, but just look over the stats again if you would. Thats all i have to say on that. Even then we should allow that many yards...holding them to under 100 yards when they rush 42 times is great, but we have to stop them both ways if we want to win. Hopefully the new staff can pick this team up, and hopefully some play-makers step up on offense. Were losing our front line on defense, but our secondary and Lbs return so we should be OK next year. It all depends on how well guys like rose, and logan develop. Ideally we can get some nice break-outs from some young guys so we can get them out there. Recruiting, were deep in the season with one guy...hope this picks up for sure...

Crud. Well, I'd suggest we gear up the running game a bit more. Drop the percentages of passing about 10-15% across the board. We can't throw interceptions if we don't throw.
Sorry for my absence.

Hopefully Prior develops well, as he could be a 4 year starter for us at RB if the cards play out right...He could carry us, and i think a lot comes down to how well our guy who got academic suspension at QB beginning of the year develops this year. We could be talented on O in a season or two

Recruiting Update:
S R.J. Streb from Houston high school in Houston, Missouri has agreed to attend Missouri University next year. In 9 games, R.J. made 76 tackles, had 5.5 sacks, and 9 interceptions. He was ranked #10 by Rivals.com State rankings and made the All-Star team. Our scout, who is rated terrific with defensive backs, rates him an 86 out of 100. His strength is man-to-man defense and his weakness is punt returning. My impression is he's worse than scouted. *Not that we needed a safety, but we can redshirt him. Jerald Brown from Arlington high school in Arlington, Washington has agreed to attend Missouri University next year. In 9 games Jerald has made 62 tackles and has 6.5 sacks. He's ranked #13 in the state by Rivals.com and made the All-Star team. Our scout, who is rated terrible with defensive linemen, rates him a 76 out of 100. His strength is defending the run and our scout tells us he has no weaknesses of note. He also tells us his ratings consistency is very high. My impression is he's worse than scouted. Here's a rundown of our coordinators:
We need a shake up at the end of the year, but I need to know what you guys want me to look for as far as the OC and DC go. We also need to keep this hush-hush as I don't want the team's morale to get any lower than it is now. Todd |

Wow, you have some challanges on your decision making, I would be in a toss up on your DC...although he is lousy at the play calling and most of his personable skills, his player development capabilities would keep me up at night, trying to figure out the direction to go. Good Luck!

Thanks! OC is most definite, but you're right on the DC side of things. I just wonder what a good playcalling DC could do with this defense Blade and I have put together. Todd |

trying to steal my job...im offended. Is say look around for a guy with similar development skills, but much higher ratings in the other categories...a notch or two down in development might be worth a much better play caller or injury guy...who knows, but assses if anyone qualifies as close. If they only have the other side, keep our guy.

Current Defensive Bests:
Season Records: Sacks in a Season: 8.0 Sacks, Nathan Baxter DT 2004 INT in a Season: 5 INTs, Vince Sampson S 2004 Tackles in a Season: 85 tackles, Vince Sampson S 2004 Solo Tackles in a Season: 64, Vince Sampson S 2004 Tackles For Loss in a Season: 15 TFL, Nathan Baxter DT 2004 Passes Defended: 9, Vince Sampson S 2004 Team Tackles: 787, 2004 Defense Team Sacks: 31, 2004 Defense Team INTs: 22, 2004 Defense Team Passes Defended: 41, 2004 Defense Comments: I wanted to do single game records, but too many games were posted last year without a breakdown so i figured it wouldnt be fair to say they are records based on partial stats. With only one season, they are a little dominated by our top performers. Suprising to me is that Baxter, maybe the guy i blasted most last season, is the best lineman we had last year. Sampson went in expected to be a leader and did so, so no suprise with him. As for this year, Diaz already has broken that INT record, so that will be changed when the season ends for sure. Anderson needs a few big games here at the end, but he could take the sack record. Ford and Stinemetz are the guys to watch for both tackles records, with Ford more for solo and Stinemetz for total. We could realistically shatter most of those records this year, and i think as a team we will beat some of those as well. We might not have the record, but i think defensively we are getting better stats. That might be due to our offense never staying on the field, but who knows. Even with the worse record and some bad losses, i think defensively this is a better unit. Some of these teams we play get great numbers but even gaudier attempt stats...Overall i havent been too displeased this year, since they seem to show up once every few games. It just seems like they take the big ones off, which is concerning. Lets see how we do against nebraska, as we have been great all year against the run and been killed on the pass. Nebraska is a very beatable team for us, and after Colorado we need it badly

I went 5% accross the board for running plays and that helped this offense somewhat, we just couldn't hold them in the 4th quarter after a stellar 3rd quarter on defense.

WR Nicky Boyd from Northwest high school in Indianapolis, Indiana has agreed to attend Missouri University next year. In 9 games Nicky has caught 71 passes for 1548 yards and 14 touchdowns. His Rivals.com state rank is #26 and he made the All-Star team. Our scout, who is rated lousy with recievers, rates him a 73 out of 100. His strength is getting open and his weaknes is catching in traffic. My impression is he's much worse than scouted. [AtP (9) - AcP (64) - GPA: 3.32 - Ts: 1141] *There are a bunch of recruits visiting this week and I hope we can sign a pack of them soon. Definitly losing games do not help young men to sign with us.
