Good pick, I think this was the best pick in what was the toughest category for me to fill (from the sidelines).

5.6 ALF aka Gordon Schumway (ALF) - Wildcard

I was tempted to use him as a pet, but decided the votes would be against me here, much like the Lucy Ball discussion. I probably could've picked him next round, but...

or I could just tell you to go fuck yourself.

The expectation of these drafts is that people will be considerate enough to make their picks on time or send in a list between 9 AM and 9 PM.

If you can't meet that expectation then don't sign up, it ruins the fun for everyone else.

I don't think I am alone in this sentiment.

Oh man, I gotta remember where I'm stepping around here. I post in another section on FOFC constantly, where they totally get that I wouldn't be pissy about anything and would just be poking a little fun. No hard feelings man, and I am sorry about holding this little shindig up yesterday.

Well I've got a list to the good Dr. right now, so if I'm not here I'll have picks in the morning. I don't think RendeR is going to be around any more tonight from the sound of his last post.

Well I can pick now, I guess.

5.10 Steve Urkel-Family Matters - Wildcard

Love him, hate him, he single handedly kept a mediocre sitcom afloat, more than that, gave it success. He's not a family member, not a best friend, but hands down the star of the show. Mr Wildcard.

I'd just like to call a bit of shennigans on the fact that RendeR picked him in the 1st round, some people called him out, so he retracted and picked someone else, and he gets him in the 5th? That's quite a bit of BS.

Anyway, I know this is not serious enough a thing that we should do anything about it, but that's pretty lame in my opinion.

Ah. So that's what happened. I wasn't there so I was wondering whom he picked. Why would someone call him out on the pick? I don't see anything wrong with it.

Good pick! I am surprised he was still on the board near the end of round 5.

Because it wasn't from a "family" show. So he says "yeah, I'm switching cause I want to do only family shows". Spoils that pick, then takes him later. Poor form.

Yup. Once Cliff and Archie were gone I saw no use in picking dad in the first few. But for my strategy I really wanted Fred, so this seemed like the right spot.

Ah. I understand now. I'll let him defend himself, but wasn't this during the time that we were confused about what shows we could pick from? I don't recall family shows being part of the discussion though.

5.12 - Basil Fawlty (Wildcard), Fawlty Towers. I'll probably get a who or what the f, but just trust me on this one.

6.1 - Eddie (Pet), Frasier. I was somewhat struggling with the pet category. I didn't want a pet that was just visible and never had any interaction with the rest of the family and was just seen. Eddie fits that for me.

A few of us made comments that we thought this was just from family shows. I realize that I was probably wrong in reading it that way. What bugs me is he shouldn't have been able to change his pick.

I mean, if I was right, and this was really meant for only family shows, then I can understand him being able to change his pick. But if I was wrong, as I concede is likely, then he shouldn't have been able to change his pick in the first place, especially if he planned on going back and making that pick anyways.

Yup. The switch made me uneasy, but for the good of fun I let it slide. But for him to then turn around and get the guy he originally picked in the first round in the 4th?

I would agree, but no one called shenanigans at the time and told him to keep it. Plus, Fielding is out there for 4 rounds so, others could have taken him.

Ah well.

He misunderstood something, and changed his pick right away. Once he did that, there's no reason the guy couldn't be picked again.

I guess I'm missing the problem here.

6.2 - Florida Evans - Good Times - Mom - Poor Fred always wanted to be with Elizabeth. Now he doesn't need Elizabeth because he has his girl Esther. Esther and Fred make a wonderful, nurturing couple - don't they?

Edit: Fixed - had the actress (Esther Rolle) instead of the character (Florida Evans).

Again, I know we're not going to "do" anything about it - but he "tainted" the pick in my view. Then snags him rounds later.

*shrug*

Maybe I'm overreacting, but it's pretty poor form imo.

Absolutely devastating combo. I think the whole is the greater of the pieces and you've made some great choices.
