That was just a fitting ending. Blatant, 3 yards from the ball carrier hold...let it slide...because, well...that's what the NFL does.

Congratulations Baltimore. Hats off to the Niners as well, they played a hell of a second half.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it just goes to what I have said all year (even when people were begging for the regular refs back) The reffing in this league is a joke and has been for years. Again, I'll repeat, there is no excuse for not making that call there. One of the worst no calls I have ever seen in my life.

The official who had the guts to call the Miami/Ohio State PI makes me smile to this day. That's a guy who knows how to ref a game. The pathetic excuse for a ref who watched that develop right in front of him? He shouldn't have a job, much less be reffing in The Super Bowl.

Ravens beat Denver with a ton of garbage calls (including a PI call on Bailey in OT that was beyond a joke) They got more tonight. This may as well have been an NBA playoff game.

Here's the thing, only the blatant Baltimore homers give a fuck if they call that holding on Crabtree there. Nobody else even posts about it. I pretty much hate both of these teams equally, fwiw.

Niners worried about the clock instead on scoring once they hit the red zone. I don't think I liked a single call on that series.

Is this even a doubt? I mean, if Rahim Moore doesn't gag on his own vomit, Flacco throws the game ending INT in Denver in the divisional round. He's an average QB with an incredibly strong arm. Good for him, he got hot at the right time and it led him to a Super Bowl. He'll never get back to another one as a starting NFL QB.

Both teams had bad breaks/calls go against them. But the Ravens played better than the Niners and Harbaugh East outcoached Harbaugh West, and the outcome reflects that.

Yes. I dislike the Ravens more than I dislike the 49ers, but have no rooting interest. Settling for field goals and a few poor timeouts did the 49ers in, not the refs.

For all the squawking about the no-call in the end zone, I sure thought Crabtree should have gotten called for pass interference. I saw a hold on the defense and an interference on the receiver.

Also, I'm hoping for a huge ceremony in Denver next season when the Ravens visit the Broncos and present Rahim Moore with his Super Bowl ring.

The contact I saw from Crabtree looked to me like it was him trying to break free from a hold.

Either way, that's offsetting and repeat the down. IMO the worst thing the official could have done there is not call anything at all.

There's not exactly a plethora of QBs who are locks to leading their teams to the SB in the AFC. Two of them are 35+.

Flacco? That defense is going to take a nosedive next year. Rice is getting older. You ask Flacco to throw the ball 35 times? You are dead. Simply dead.

Next year that's what is going to happen. They'll regret the contract within the first 4 games he's played after signing it.

Sure, they could've replayed the down. I'd have been OK with that, just as I'm OK with the way it went.

Now here's the part where I'm going to come off like a jerk: No matter how the play would have turned out, there would've been people crying like babies about how the officials always screw up. All the whining about officials has turned into "boy who cried wolf" to me, and I actually enjoy bad calls at this point. Really, the complaining about it is so watered down that it means about as much as a thread hanging from my shirt tail at this point. Honestly, I wish they would've called roughing the kicker on that pass play, just because it wouldn't have made any sense.

Flacco has upped his game. The offensive cordinator let him to his thing and he responded. Flacco has been inconsistent because the Ravens wouldnt let him go out there and throw it around the field. And the Ravens may be close to finding Rice's replacement already. Pierce looks solid. Rice can be the 3rd down guy and limit his carries soon.

Flacco is actually at his best in the no huddle spreading the field. He plays his best ball when he is throwing it 35+ times.

You have to sign flacco. He's not elite but he's a good qb. You lose him and you are a 5-6 win team next year as you need a qb these days.

The thing that bothers me about Flacco is that he seems to lack the will to poor it on. He gets out in front and seems to settle into it and stop throwing strikes down the field.

It's not about ability or intelligence, I think he has both of those. He just lacks that killer instinct.

Baltimore averaged about 30 a game in the playoffs this year and were top 10 in scoring regular season. Stop throwing out ridiculous predictions. They may or may not make another Superbowl, mainly because it is incredibly hard to do so, but Flacco is not going to keep them from getting there.

Fair point, though the Raven defense really won that football game, as well as the Texans the previous week. Flacco had good yardage numbers, but pretty much anyone who played the Pats last year NOT named Tim Tebow did that.

I think some of the people badmouthing Joe Flacco are actually confusing him with Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I know, and if I'm coaching, I tell my guys to do just that too. I know it probably won't happen, but the refs should be able to put time back on the clock for a penalty like that. It easily cost the 49ers 3-5 seconds, which could have been the difference between a free kick return + one play or just the free kick return.

Between the no call on the PI and then that no call on the safety right after, it makes me wonder if the refs just weren't going to call a penalty unless Ray Lewis put on his white suit.
