I hope to hell not. If we go from the game every VT fan wants (WVU) to Kansas, that would be a huge disappointment.

In a season like this, is there really much that a +1 would do?

If you take four teams this season, who do you leave out? Georgia, VPI, USC, Oklahoma?

Well, two things are at play here - I think Washington has too much talent to be the last-place team in the conference. That's on the coaching staff and why I think Willingham needs to be fired.

But I'll stand by my contention that if you put Hawaii in the Pac-10, they'd probably have 3-5 losses in-conference. Hawaii could get away with less-than-stellar efforts against Louisiana Tech and San Jose State and still escape with wins, but those would've been losses against any Pac-10 team, Stanford included.

Fortunately for Hawaii, it seems like a lock that they'll get a Sugar Bowl berth and a chance to make people like me look stupid by winning that game.

For what it is worth (not much), word on the WVU side of things is that we are heading to the Fiesta.

It will be fun to play a team we don't see very often, in Oklahoma, but I think playing in the final game at the Orange Bowl in VT (and in Miami, which is most closer in proximity to more alums) would be far, far more attractive.

I suspect that the B12/Fiesta folks don't want two B12 teams in that particular game, but the conference leaned on them to deal with the Orange Bowl, so that a second B12 would not have been skipped over for the BCS in exchange for ASU.

FWIW the Orange Bowl game is played at Dolphin Stadium.

I definitely don't think playing Kansas will be easy...but since we beat equitable teams like ECU and Ohio U, I thnk we should win.

10 minutes in and the only announcement so far is Hawaii to the Sugar Bowl. This is a horrible broadcast.

Why does Fox try to make this like the NCAA basketball selection show (who always does at least one bracket before breaks)? It's not really "drama", as everyone has a good feel and prediction of who's in and going where.

15 minutes into the show, the anchor asks the other guys, "are you guys ready for this stuff". I almost expected them to say, "no, lets wait a few more minutes".

The NCAA is really screwing this all up. I really could care less about any of these games. The system is so screwed up. I'm really getting sick of college football.

So:
BCS-LSU vs. Ohio State
Rose-Illinois vs. USC
Orange-Kansas vs. Virginia Tech
Sugar-Hawaii vs. Georgia
Fiesta-West Virginia vs. Oklahoma

The only game I really like is the Sugar (and that is because you have an unbeaten Hawaii team with a fun team to watch against a talented, hot Georgia team).

NCAA has nothing to do with it, that's the thing. It's a cartel of college presidents & ADs, bowl committees and other rich people who think this is the pinnacle of awesomeness.

And they'll argue that the fact that we're talking about it, says that the system works.

Goofy, but that's their logic.

Don't forget to thank the B12 for having a championship game. If the season ends for Big 12 teams after the regular season, Mizzou is in the title game.

But they absolutely should have gotten a BCS bid ahead of Kansas.
