The fact that you're using this as support for how "fucking journalism in this country is a joke" is laughable.

I am not going to research every crappy article written in the past week covering all aspects of our society, just to make a point that you are obviously missing.

Did we all forget that this is a message board and that different opinions are ok? Fuck.

I figured you were researching every crappy article written since you uncovered a World Series prediction by some guy in Seattle (yes, Seattle).

I just found out that I'm going to Game 5 of the series! This will be my first world series game. I've been to a few ALDS games at Yankee Stadium, Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS (Boone game-winning homer), and now I'll knock another item off the bucket list, as long as it gets to Game 5.

Rollins picks Phillies in 5 games

Story Highlights
Jimmy Rollins made his prediction on 'The Jay Leno Show'

Rollins' teammates are used to his swagger

PRINT EMAIL Buzz up! FACEBOOK DIGG TWITTER RSS SHARE

Earlier this season, Jimmy Rollins predicted that the Phillies and Yankees would meet in the World Series.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jimmy Rollins has done pretty well making predictions. His latest is sure to rile up New York Yankees fans.
"Of course we're going to win," he said on "The Jay Leno Show" on Monday night, two days before Game 1 of the World Series. "If we're nice we'll let it go six (games), but I'm thinking five. Close it out at home."
The Yankees were not moved by Rollins' boast, dismissing the Philadelphia shortstop's comment Tuesday.
"He's been Nostradamus, that's what I heard," Yankees catcher Jorge Posada said. "He's been (making) a lot of good predictions, so we've got to take that away from him."
Earlier this season, Rollins forecast the Yankees and Phillies would meet in the Fall Classic this year.
"He predicted we'd play them in the World Series about seven years ago, too," Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter said. "You make enough predictions, I guess you'd be right most of the time, right?"
Most of the time. Try all of the time, so far.
Rollins got into the soothsaying business before the 2007 season when he exclaimed the Phillies, not the Mets, were the team to beat in the NL East. He backed it up with an MVP season as Philadelphia surged into first as New York collapsed.
And last year, Rollins said the Phillies would win 100 games. They got 92 of them in the regular season and 11 more in the playoffs en route to the World Series title.
Rollins' teammates are used to his swagger, and are not bothered by the bulletin board fodder.
"That's just Jimmy," Phillies slugger Ryan Howard said. "He loves that spotlight. He loves putting that type of -- I guess I don't want to say pressure -- but just putting that kind of attention on himself and on our team. Obviously, with those comments, you know here in Yankee Stadium, you know they're going to be all over him. And you know what? He wants that. He relishes that moment."
Then why didn't he go further a call for a sweep?
"I think it would be very tough to take four. You figure one game they're going to find a way to win," Rollins said during Tuesday's media session. "That's the way it is."
Teammate Chase Utley has his own plans for Rollins if he's right again.
"I think if this one sticks I think I'll take him to Vegas with me," Utley said.

I went to Game 4 last year. Great experience.

I think this year I'll be making the trip out for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. To at least tailgate and probably head to the bar for the games.

So when I came home last night, the wife had the Phillies/Yanks game on, I never checked anything so I thought it was game 1. I saw CC with a 3-2 deficit in the 8th and figured it was the real deal. Watched the Yanks come back off of Lidge in the 9th with some singles and SBs. Then Ruiz hits a double in the 11th or so to give the Phillies the lead and I go to eat dinner...come back game over. I thought this was game 1, so I go to check the final stats online and realize the series starts today. Figured out the wife was flipping channels and landed on MLB network which was showing some old game. Bummer.

Hmmm, I wonder how the Yankees players have aged so well, considering they have been a part of all 26 world series championships.

Phillies looking good so far. Lee is locked in. Should be a close one either way, but Sabathia looks hittable tonight.

Victorino is chasing, but that's nothing really new. It's hard to tell this team to stop being aggressive at the plate, because that's what makes them so successful.

On the plus side, it the way this game is moving, maybe it won't be 4.5 hours like most of the playoff games have been.

If I am not mistaken, Utley scored the first run of the 2008 World Series by at HR too.

He did.. I think it was a solo shot down in TB. I think it was the first hit by the Phils too last year.

Definitely leaning towards the Phils here. As horrible as it may be coming from a Mets fan, as I watch the game I start to remember that I actually like quite a few of the Philly players, pretty much just the way they go about the game (Utley, Werth, Victorino, Howard).

I know I'm nitpicking, but I really hope the Phils upgrade at 3b next year. Feliz is just awful, and quite frankly, his much hyped defense is a little overrated in my book.

Also, while I'm complaining, baseball really needs to at least think about shortening the season. Both teams really deserve better than to play in conditions like this. By the 8th inning, this field is going to be an absolute mess.

Screw the records, stop the season around 9/10, and start the playoffs around 9/15. Starting the WS on 10/28 is crazy.

Great play by Rollins here, these guys should be embarrassed beyond belief if they fuck this up.

Good to see they got it right..... I've been thinking this for years, but fucking up a call like that, IMO, just shows umps really aren't paying as much attention as they should be.

Awesome from my point of view, but really stupid from Matsui's point of view. There's no reason for him to be wandering off 1st in any situation there.

10:05 in the 7th. Not bad at all.

Here's to hoping the Phils can score a few here so maybe (I know, I'm getting greedy) we can put Durbin out there in the 8th and/or 9th and save Lee's arm for game 5.

Having seen and been to enough Yankee games --the slowdown usually begins around this time. The first 7 innings go by fast, and then the next 2-3 take the same amount of time.
