moving on from this HFL fiasco, just wanted to point out that i "get it" now, in terms of how i need to tone it down a bit. things will be slightly different if/when i join another league, in the sense that hindsight being what it is i've seen how me being on level 10 ultimately got in the way of running my team. can't make trades with people if you piss them off by making fun of their non-ability to run a team.

yes, people shouldn't take my trash talk to heart. in a perfect world you would think that's how it goes - you make fun of someone's bad team, they tell you how it isn't bad, we jaw back and forth, we trades jokes and barbs about each other's teams and i move on to the next debate. maybe my style was more potent than i thought. unfortunately people didn't brush it off and they let HA the uber-intense, passionate fan affect how they dealt with HA the GM.

at the heart of whatever i do in a league, the underlying theme is that i post cuz i care. in any event i'm glad to see some people - people whose opinions i value (as much as you can value an internet friend's opinion without ever meeting the person) - value what i bring to the table and in taking the bad with the good can enjoy my contributions.

Hell Atlantic is the Terrell Owens of IHOF. Tremendous offerings to bring to the table, but tremendous baggage as well.

Oh, and while we are on the subject, please keep in mind that HA wasn't kicked out of IHOF. He quit on his own accord. I think that has a great deal to do with the negative reception he recently recieved when he raised the subject of possibly getting back into IHOF.

I've always found HA entertaining. I like exchanging a little trash talk as much as anyone -- it adds a little spice to things. I think some people just let him get under their skin a little too much.

I will admit that he does have a tendency to step over the line into tastelessness during some of his rants -- his recent outburst wishing AIDs and death on another poster's spouse comes to mind.

He was posting some stuff at IHOF back when everyone was getting on his case about the first cheating thing last fall.

That is, until I deleted his posts and banned him.

I wouldn't mind if HA joined the league, but my opinion doesn't mean a whole lot.

Yeah, I'm willing to add that I think Hell Atlantic is a great guy to have in your FOF league. Sure, he was bashing my moves all the time, but that was part of how we differed in building our teams, plus, we've had a little bit of history here at FOFC. By the way I think he doesn't deserve to be the center of attention in a thread about cheating, because after seeing how he played for a couple of FOF seasons, I think he's probably the last person who would concider cheating.

I was being sarcastic about that part. I mean, the Dean Houston story is usually smeared with cheating (unrightfully so, I think), and this thread's original topic is cheating. I found it a bit amusing that probably the last you (as in someone) could HA accuse of is that, cheating. In a thread like these, you'd except people to step up for people who actually did cheat.

Well, I'm still the only one who brought a team from #1 pick to a conference game in the league, so it's easy to let go of it. Plus, it would have been nice to kick your ass some day, 'cause now I'll forever have that one humiliating loss to remember.

I was doing a Google search for worst football teams and this thread came up. At first I thought it was because of some of the cheating comments, but then I saw that someone had mentioned North Dakota State University.

Bump for the heck of it.

I love this thread.

JoninMiddleGA:
"You strike me as a small and pathetic little man."

Play2Win:
"I know you are but what am I. Also, you are gay.
WHO'S NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I just hope that Play2Win acts like that in real life. It would be a sadder world if he does not inflict that type of unintentional comedy on real people.

you should play in a league with Play2Win/Ready4Anything...

I know he has quit every league I have seen him in and returned at least 2 times each.

And I'll beat someone to the punch line... Yes, actually he is an Anti-FOF NAZI, thats what I say...

I should add that it's also possible if you hack the export file. Again, rather easy to catch down the line, so I'm not too worried about it. Most cheats hang out there for perpetuity for anyone to catch in a league that archives files - rather like a booger on Losman's throwing hand.
