I'd say you guys played about perfect in the second half and did a better job of taking advantage of your talent advantage down low and athletic advantage in general. It got really physical in the second half (I don't know how many times I saw Gansey get knocked down away from the ball) and that was to your advantage as well. I think the main thing was all the offensive rebounds.
West Virginia had a couple games just like this in the BE tournament where they shot the ball great and got a big lead in the first half against BC (over 20) and Villanova (15 or so) and then the lead disappeared and it got real tight at the end. We held on to win those two, but the third game of getting a lead and cooling off was the charm in a bad way.
I can't believe how close we were to the final four.

Illini down by 7 with 1:21 to go. If it holds true, Arizona vs Louisville is going to be a heck of a game

Man, Salim Stoudamire can shoot, but he can't handle the ball worth a shit. He always looks like he's going to lose it. I know why you want him to have the ball, but you better have someone close in case he screws up.

What a crazy ending. That pass by Illinois was stupid. They are lucky Arizona didn't get a better shot at the very end.

Great comeback by Illinois, but that may be the most aggregious whistle swallong in the history of college hoops. I counted atleast 12 fouls that went uncalled against the Illini in the final 4 minutes. Still, Illinois was unbelievable down the stretch.

Maybe its the refs from the Duke-Miss. St. game where players on each team would lose a lung, but looking at someone crosseyed was an intentional foul.

Does anyone else see Stoudamire knifing someone if they lose? He just gives off the "I'm insane" vibe. He may be perfectly sane, but I dunno.

Of course, that helps that team down 15 more than the team ahead. Bilas is like "all Arizona had to do was hit free throws and they would have won".

Uh, Jay, you have to be on the line to hit free throws. It's hard to hit free throws when the fouls aren't called

Well, at least 'Zona didn't do their choking in the first or second round this season. They had the courtesy to wait until the Elite Eight.

Yea, its good to see a no call game when the teams aren't playing that rough a game and there is a similiar level of contact on both ends. They are letting the kids play and its help make the game as good as it has been.

Brutal, Illinois played better down the stretch, but a tough loss. What's up with that final play?
