Hmm... I think this thread has outlived it's usefulness and humor. This thread has been good and has been fun in the past... but it's gone now.
Ctown sounds upset. We should oblige him and let this Frankenstien's Monster of a thing go.

Sorry C-Town - this threads going to 1000!

I have noticed that this thread has now turned into a bunch of people desperate to post just for the sake of posting in this thread, and talk of Ctowns lovelife disappeared about 7 pages ago.
On a related note, this is my first post in this topic. |

Why is C-town upset? I refuse to go back and try and find out...did something bad happen with the law student? Did she (*gasp!*) see this thread?

No sachmo71,
It is just annoying to see people contiunously post on this tread just to post on it. It outlived its purpose and the day I posted that I was in quite a surly mood. Anyhow, that is the reason I said that, no other. That is also why I have posted no updates (one way or the other) in several weeks . . . [ 05-07-2001: Message edited by: Ctown-Fan ]

Then lets have an administrator CLOSE THE TOPIC! If C-town is tired of it, and it's making him mad, that's as good of a reason as any to close it! No more posts from me...

You know, I swore I wasn't going to post in this thread, but....
Ctown, if you're really sick of seeing this thread (and I don't doubt that you are), you know you can simply edit your first post, click "Delete", and the whole thing will disappear. Unless of course you want it saved for posterity for some reason.... |

y'all are a tough crowd!
I am right there with you sachmo71, although I feared this thread would some day make it back to the top. I didn't think that it was going to be a catastrophic event that caused it. Ok, Double A, I'll take one for the team this time, but I swear if that ball hits me in the head . . . lurker, I am glad to have kept you amused all this time! Better to have you post than to lurk, in my mind

I am a patient man. I had never seen this thread before (a bit before my time) and after this post i wanted to jump out of my chair with a response, but surely in the next 18 pages, someone would make my point for me...but No! you called at 8 & 9!!! never, ever, ever call on the hour! It makes it look like you thought 'i'll call at 8' and called at like 8.01PM alerting her to the fact that the call was obviously planned. Even if you've plotted a call for days, with a huge flow chart instructing you on what to do for every possible turn the conversation might take, don't blow your cover by calling on the hour!! Do suave, playing-it-cool, non-obsessive guys call on the hour? NO. They're spontaneous, they don't call at 8 and 9, they call at 7.42 and 8.16. Beyond that point, i was really surprised at the turn this thread took, with C-town getting seemingly pissed off and completely unwilling to give us even a vague sense of how anything worked out. What seemes like the most straight-forward plot ended up being less coherent than a David Lynch directed film. So, a year later....what's up with 3L? Corey |

Ctown IS David Lynch.
3L is now in NoMyths' stable of hookers. Corey's advice is damned wise. |

If i remember, the 8 and 9 was just an economy of typing--but I probably did call roughly an hour apart.
3L and I didn't work out, and I found out later it was a good thing. Months later, I was at an Indians game with a lawyer buddy of mine and we ran into some of her friends, all happened to be Case Grads. They knew her, and told some stories that I wasn't to impressed with--so I guess that is a good thing that it didn't work out.... Since then there was a Librarian (MLS from UT), the college senior (eat your hearts out), the random little (22) sister of a friend--that was awakward--and not much else. My old strategy of of wearing down their defenses through repeated meetings doesn't work so well in the bar/pub scene, and I still don't have the hang of this whole calling thing. However, I am still plugging away. After having three long term relationships, and watching my friends in long termers, I have to wonder "why the hell should I go through this hassle?" Then I remember, it's all about the breasts. Hopefully, that has brought the closure that Chris and some others have wanted . . .speaking of which, I'll need to get my mack on again this weekend

thanks for the followup ctown, i think that's all the closure i needed. You should followup with some wise phrase about 'the road less travelled' or something and then the thread can disappear forever.

The tricks your mind plays on you as you get older are amazing.
Take this thread, for example. I remember the thread being huge, almost unreadable, even. I remember it being this infinitely-headed hydra of a topic that dwarfed the fortitude of even the most devoted FOFCer to read. I remember having to write down thread page numbers on little scraps of paper to make sure I knew which page to pick up the discussion on. ::shrug:: Turns out the damned thing was only ten pages long. |

Remember, SkyDog recently changed it to 50 posts per page now, so it used to be 20 pages long.

Seeing as how CTown-Fan has graced us with his presence, I just have to bump this so that a new generation of FOFCers can learn about the greatness that is CTF and his girl troubles...
(Sorry, CTown, but you knew that it was going to have to happen once you showed up... )

If you can't see the difference between this post (before it became silly) and the threadkill posts (which never served much of a purpose), you're either willfully ignoring the value behind it or are just irrevocably stupid. Your pick.

agreed. I'm angered that anyone would choose to compare this thread to the entirely mindless "threadkiller" thread. I feel dirty even mentioning the threadkiller thread. This thread is the height of reality posting at FOFC. I would'nt hesitate to rank this as one of my all-time favorites threads. |
