Hola!! CPU Help Needed (Internet Explorer related)

Hello to all out there...

I'm having a problem using IE on my laptop.. What is happening is upon opening Explorer, is it basically jamming up on me (AOL through High Speed Internet/Comcast is working fine though). The screen just sits there all white (blank), with the status bar at the bottom showing only one bar. I believe they call this a hang, correct me if I'm wrong.

I've tried reinstalling IE to no avail. Does someone out there have a answer to this one? This is also affecting my ability to update my Security Center (McAfee) which is a concern.

Thanks a bunch!! Happy Holidays to all!!

first thought is a firewall is blocking IE and McAfee.

Hey DD, I checked that (disabled and enabled Firewall) and that does not seem to be causing the issue.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition by the way, on a Dell Inspiron 1150 Laptop.

I have attempted reinstalling IE multiple times, which is not making any difference what so ever.

I also have run a full virus scan check and anti-spyware check through my security service (McAfee). Each check came up clean.

I don't think it's a virus. might just be your IE connection settings are screwy.

another option, at least temporarily, is to download firefox and see if you can connect that way

Hey Myles, good to see ya!!! Not trying to threadjack, but I just wanted to congratulate you on UCF's great season! I was really hoping to meet up with y'all in the CUSA Championship. I can't believe we choked away the season like we did...

Hey Jeebs, hope all is well with you.

Yes, I certainly didn't expect Tulsa to be the team from the West... They took it to UCF though.

UTEP is still a force and will continue to be in CUSA. You've got to be happy about that. Hopefully UCF can do the same.

Happy Holidays!

Next year we have a much tougher schedule, so hopefully JP will have learned how to not throw the ball to the other team by then. But as long as CMP is here were always going to have a legitimate shot at the conference championship.

UCF should be scary for a while...weren't most of your starters underclassmen? O'Leary just did an amazing job there...

Mizzou, I ran that program you linked.. Thanks for the info, but it didn't help me in this instance.

Very weird situation with all of this..

Anything else you can think of would be much appreciated.

Happy Holidays!
