Weird thing going on with salaries in my multi-player league
one of the teams is showing that even if he releases a guy with no bonus, he doesn't get the full amount back.
He has several guys with like 800k contracts, or even a couple guys he just got in trades that when you go to look at "save if release", it says only 20k or 30k. He's the only team that has this weird qwirk... anyone know what's up? |

He probably has more than 53 players. Only the 53 highest cap costs count against the salary cap. When you release one of those 53, the 54th player takes his spot against the cap.
For example: 53rd player makes $800k 54th player makes $760k If you release the 53rd player, you're going to save $40k in cap room because the 54th player's salary will now count agianst the cap. Hope that makes sense. Last edited by yabanci : 10-28-2005 at 08:09 PM. |

does he have more than 53 guys? like guys on the IR that are counting toward the cap number? that might explain it.
