How in the hell is Tech ranked #6? I'm a Tech grad, and they aren't top 15 in my book, much less #6.

I am not sure I understand but Florida State has beaten both Boston College and Miami both of whom are in most people's top 20...yet some people feel like Ohio State and various other one lost teams are better. Someone explain your logic if you don't mind...

Meh, I just felt that I needed at least on Big East team in the poll...and Rutgers got the nod. Penn State would have been number 26. I thought about putting them in the 20-24 range, but Minnesota has been their only 'quality' win of the season...and when you counter that with the Northwestern game, then I see them as borderline top 25.

This just shows VPI's obvious contempt for Joe Pa and Penn State.

If you don't have to do that (and admittedly you can't because of the Notre Dame beat Michigan beat Michigan State beat Notre Dame situation) why would someone have to put Florida State ahead of Ohio State?

Or do you think every undefeated team should be ahead of every one loss team on general principle?

thats only valid if the 3 teams have the same number of losses. Otherwise, head to head should speak for itself.

I ran into some connection issues to the database where I keep the stats. Hopefully I'll have that fixed and get the new poll out tonight.
