FOF: Heat Exhaustion???

I've got a RB out for a week with Heat Exhaustion. I don't think I've ever seen that one. Has that been around since the release, or was it perhaps added in a patch?

We've never had that in IHOF...I suppose it could be a new one.

Would you rather have had a sleeping bag related injury?

You could combine them. He is suffering from heat exhaustion as a result of being trapped in his sleeping bag.

What was the temperature in his last game? I'll be disappointed if it was 32 and snowing!

Never seen that 'injury' in solo play or the Imperial League.

I have never seen it but wouldn't be all that surprised by it, I mean I looked at the temp for one of the games we got next week and it is at 102.

Yes. Most common example I can think of is "Player X slipped a little on the wet field."

packerfanatic i am hoping too for FOF

if it rains, i hope to see more drops by the wr or more fumbles my the HB.

if its really hot, i would hope to see players endurance go down and get tire faster.

if it snows i hope it harder to pass, etc

I can understand Jim getting frustrated when Solecismic gets questions that are covered by the manual, but where's the harm asking a quick question on a board called Front Office Football Central?

Exactly, attendence figures very plenty. Especially now with the addition of who your opponent is for that home game having an effect. I have no problem with how attendence is done now really.

then it appears to affect certain teams, check the Browns. Every season with them (well, Syracuse) in SP and MP has had the exact same attendence despite weather with an outdoor stadium. Attendence = Season Tickets sold

well, I found like 1 game in my SP career that fluctuated. Doesn't happen enough when we (browns) have vastly different weather for games.

I have *some* problem with it. Attendance still doesn't take into account the bandwagon effect. No matter how bad the franchise has been in the past, you'll never see a 12-4 team draw like this:

2011 Regular Season (12-4) Passing Rushing Receiving Attendance

Chubby, methinks you need to read your patch readmes a little more closely.

It was adjusted in one of the later patches, which is why most of your IHOF attendance figures will show the same numbers every game.

Very true, that is an unrealistic part of it, especially when it is a playoff game. My lack of MP playoff trips has effected my memory a bit in that area I guess.

Another reason why you may not be seeing the full range of attendance fluctuations is that once your team reaches a certain level, performance-wise, attendance bumps up against a glass ceiling. From my experience, this glass ceiling is reached pretty quickly. The team listed above was an Empty Cupboard team (Bear Bryant Challenge). Their records were:

1-15
2-14
3-13
5-11
4-12
12-4
12-4

The attendance figures above are for the second 12-4 season. Notice that in the first few games, attendance was fluctuating. However, when the team reached a certain level, it topped out at 42,300 for the final three regular season games and the one playoff game as well. My guess is that the factors pushing attendance upward outweigh any other factors that might push it downward slightly at that point, but the upward growth is stymied by the glass ceiling.

ahhh that would do it. most of my SP #s in my latest career (with the last patch_ have shown very little fluctuation too but my stadium is always close to soldout anyways

He was born is 87. So it is possible that by the time he got into football, the rams were the only team he remembered seeing. I remember getting into football around the 6th grade.

Geez....1987. I was in freakin high school with a flat top, wearing neon T-shirts and breakdance pants (you know the ones with a lot of zippers). He wouldn't remember life without cable, what a typewriter looked like, or MTV when it was good and dammit you had to pay for it.

Here's just an idea for Jim...in addition to having the manual presented in an in-game search/index format, also provide it in pdf format. I think it is much easier to read front to back that way. In the other circumstance, you can search for something specific if you're so inclined (though for most it seems more convenient just to ask here).

I know I read the manual that came with the last CD version. I have the pdf manual for CoH open constantly. I'm pretty sure I'd reference a pdf version of the FOF manual (I *do* look at the in-game one every so often, usually to reference positional roster requirements).

I like the help file the way it is. Maybe I am in the minority?

They have probably read the same things over and over.

I am sure new people have ranted about the rant I am about to go on, too. I have a limited amount of time to come here, mostly on the weekend. I have to do searches just to find actual Front Office Football related threads. Maybe there should be an Off-topic forum that is everything non-FOF, or create an FOF forum so we don't have to become creative searchers to actually find items related to the game.

I haven't seen the attendance during a season fluctuate at all really. In MP with the latest patch, I draw two different figures, always the same , something like 70,600 or 71,200. Always on the nose. The higher number when I was near the end of my 5-0 start and the lower number at the beginning and later. I guess for some teams, the patch hasn't helped much in this regard. When I saw SD's attendance numbers, I was actually shocked. I have never seen that before. Maybe it's this glass ceiling thing. The stadium is only a few thousand under capacity, and support for the team is 90 something.

I'm sure that is what it is. I start nearly every new career with an Empty Cupboard team, which means I stink for several seasons. In the early years, there is noticeable fluctuation. Once my team support gets up into the 90s and we're drawing 90-100% of capacity, that "glass ceiling" kicks in.
