A new era begins tonight at 7 PM

ALEX SMITH and head coach Mike Nolan, and receiver Randy Moss all make their debuts tonight for the Niners/Raiders pre-season tilt. I would go, but I'm a Niners fan without health insurance.

Prediction: Alex Smith goes 3-9 passing before getting taken out. He is then stabbed in the nacho line during the 3rd quarter. Stephen A. Smith says it's racism for reasons unbeknownst to anyone.

Anyone who types his name on the board, should receive some time in the box. (the ESPN guy mentioned in this article)

So are we going to call him "He who must not be named"?

Yes, if we must refer to him at all. Maybe if we all pretend he doesn't exist, he'll go away.

I think that's asking too much... unless one of us is the majority owner of ESPN .

Is there a bleep out feature on this board that is unused. We could just trigger the ****** * ***** for whenever he is mentioned.

Oh, and as a 49er fan, I just hope that instead of any televised games, they can just show the corresponding game from ther 1994 season. This season might be as fun to watch as Steve Young's last concussion. Of course, who knows, maybe they'll come out of nowhere and win between 6 and 8 games.

Raiders-49ers about to start. I keep hearing people say that the Raiders are looking good. Is this true or just hometown bias? Besides Moss, how did they get better?

Dola:Candlestick is looking magnificent as usual. Unarguably the greatest and most beautiful stadium in the league.

Hmm...do you think they would still draft Leinart if they went 1-15 this year?

No, I hope they'd draft an offensive lineman who could block one of the most pathetic defensive lines in the league. Their O-Line is even worse than I thought, and I didn't think it was that good to begin with.

Yeah...Kwame Harris was a mistake as a first rounder....I saw the guy at Stanford, and he had the size and ability, but never quite put it together, Heitmann is a back-up, and so on....You're totally right about the o-line

If there is this much discussion about a meaningless first-week preseason game, I shudder to think how much talk of the 49er's meaningless regular season games weeks 1-16 there will be.

I actually like Dorsey quite a lot. Better than that other bastard they're planning on starting while Smith develops.

That prediciton was pretty good. He had 3 completions for 9 attempts. I don't know abou the nacho line thing though.
