Angels/Blue Jays Series
I watched the game before tonight's, and found it exciting. Quite a few good defensive plays, and a close game.
Then today, I see that the last game went to 18 innings, with the Jays winning 2-1. For some reason, these two games have made me want to watch baseball more this season now... it's the same feeling I get when the NHL playoffs start. Has anyone else had an experience like this? A certain point that raised the interest in watching a sport, team, or show? |

Wednesday night's game & Freel's steal-at-will performance was just sickening. I started to think Steiner & Monday were going down to the lockerroom & beat somebody's ass, or at least offer Phillips a rope with which to do the right thing.
For those who missed the debacle, Freel stole 5 bases & would have had 6 if not for a fly ball that got him doubled up in the early innings. Even on a pitch out they couldn't get him.

The Jays are a very solid team in a tough division. It's no shame to lose to them on their turf.
But, ouch, Angels, what's a matter? You have to take at least one of these games, and if you expect to be there in the end, you should take two. Ugh...been pretty ugly baseball (from an offensive standpoint), especially after taking three from the Yanks early on last week. I hope the rumors we're searching for a pitcher is false. I mean, Santana has been decent and Escobar will be back soon and we have one of the best all around rotations in the game. Why on Earth would we be going after more pitching when we so desperately need a bat to make up for the apparent decline of both Finley and GA, and the injury/slow development of McPherson? I hope Stoneman will get off his butt soon. CR
