Odd Phone line Occurance

Thursday night I get a call on my cell and am told that my house phone isn't working, I check it with 3 cords and 3 phones and sure enough, no service inside the house. Friday I call the phone company, autmoated bullshit, set up and appointment for next week. Today out of the blue my house phone rings, I pick it up, very odd, but ok, it works again. About 5 minutes in I wonder why the chick im talking to is listening to country music, "Im not", "Swear?" "Hell yes I swear, I dont even own any country music." Very odd. Now it gets louders, pretty soon i cant ever hear her over the music that's playing over my phone line, wtf is going on?

You didn't hear about the new FCC policy of mandatory C/W music during all civillian phone calls?

Damn red states.

Seriously though, what possible line crossing could cause me to hear country music? The only thing I could think of was that someone was playing the country station on their digital cable but even that seems far fetched.

I'm not sure, I used to work with a phone company and it is possible that someone could splice into your phone line and it could produce craziness not sure if it would be something like this.

Yup, go check the box. Police caught my neighbors doing it once.

Could also be that a country station has changed something in the way they broadcast or it's a new station and it has started to 'bleed' into your line. Happens sometimes in the phone world.
