Selling on Ebay
I have been a member on Ebay for awhile and to this point I have always been on the buying end of the spectrum. Im thinking about getting a treo 650 so I really want to sell my Sidekick 2 to decrease the $500+ price tag Im about to take on. I know Ebay probably has some seller FAq's but if someone here could help me get started it would be much appreciated. I have a paypal account also if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Not really a lot you should need help with as E-bay walks you through it step by step. I would recommend requiring payment by paypal as you get into iffy territory with personal checks or even money orders.

And be honest about whatever it is you're selling. If it's not perfect, say so. Give as detailed a description as possible and always put pictures. |

No problem - if you have any specific questions once you get into it, just shoot. It's really pretty self explanatory. As to what you should start your bidding at, I have no idea. It depends on your item (which I'm not familiar with) and the demand for it. If there's a lot of demand, it's usually good to start your price low to get people's attention. If there's not, I usually start it higher so I know I won't get have to give it away for nothing. I typically don't use reserve price auctions just because I find them generally unnecessary for most items, and they cost more. |

Is there a particular reason for selling the Sidekick? Also, are you able to use it with ATT, or with T-Mobile only?

Weigh it before you sell and use the shipping calculator. People like to know what the heck they are paying in shipping beforehand.
Paypal makes a big difference. People don't like screwing around with money orders..

you should jack up the shipping price to get some extra $, everyone else on ebay does.

My advice:
Do flat shipping with the cheapest, slowest carrier (USPS, usually) and add that the buyer can choose and pay for whatever shipping they would like. Stick with domestic buyers Put whether or not you will do local pickup in the shipping information Make sure your auction ends when people are awake. start it at a buck, if you're worried that it will sell for that put a reserve on it Don't put a stupid-high reserve on the item |

So, you're making the move uh? Man, I'd buy your Sidekick, if only was unlockable for European networks... Damn!!! BTW, great move. The Treo is a fantastic device. I have the 600, but I've read a lot about the 650. It's really awesome.

Forgot my eBay advice: do the description detailed, but clear. Mention every single imperfection (if it actually has some...) so the buyer can't complain later.

Ok so I made the auction and much to my suprise the next morning my item was sold. I am using paypal and the money is now in my paypal account. I transferred it to my banking account which will take 3 to 4 days. The buyers paypal address is confirmed but he has no feedback and he made a note to ship the item to another address that isnt confirmed. Is this a potential problem?

Its not your responsibility to ensure that the guys not being fraudulant. I would imagine that Paypal offers some sort of protection for this. I wouldnt worry about it too much, maybe someone just wants to send it as a gift or something. Try contacting the seller and finding out...
