Anyone have an old workable NES system
that they'd like to trade for the entire Links golf series with all the expansion packs and Course Library volumes?
I'm trying to find one for my son to play. Those old games are better for 6 year olds that today's games, I think. Simpler controller, etc. I really think he'd like Zelda and the old Mario Bros. |

We have a Super NES we hardly use. THe only games we have are NBA Basketball 99, Yoshii's Island and a collection of WIlliam's arcade games.

Check ebay? We have an original NES system and a ton of games, but still play with it somewhat regularly.

If you look various places, you can find something like this on Ebay for about 25 bucks plus shipping. Fully functioning new toploading NES system. My friend got one, and no more flickering blue screen.

You can also try checking a local thrift store. I bought a working used SegaCD for $2 a couple years ago.

You should try a local pawn shop, flea market, or even used music/video game store.
I've seen them at all three. |

The leading old system console/game provider here at a flea market is some old lady, and she charges some funny prices for some of the things. She has some book with game "values" and charges whatever that book says. I realize that this is smart business, but it still sucks when I want to buy something old. |

Unfortunately, the book is from 1987, so RBI Baseball still costs $45 and she can't even begin to quantify the worth of Tecmo Super Bowl

Are you sure that would work? It says "FC" meaning Famicom. I thought that these systems would only play Japanese games, not American games. |

Your best bet is one of those toploading NES's (the official ones) on ebay. It'll run you close to a hundred bucks, tho. But they are much better at not dying than the old front loaders.

When my 5-year-old daughter isn't playing Harvest Moon on my GBA she's usually playing some old NES game on my pc via emulator. You can get gamepads for cheap too. Works like a charm.

You may or may not need an adapter. The only difference is cartridge size, IIRC. My friends did not, and it works great. |

I brought my NES and SNES back from my parents house last time I went up there but haven't got around to setting either one of them up yet. I need to play me some TSB, though...

Tecmo Superbowl, Baseball Stars and Romance of Three Kingdom. I needed no other game on NES.

Do you have an EB Games or other related store near you? They usually have the systems and games too. |
