FOF: Do unsigned franchise players tank?

Just curious. I have a franchised RB (Kevin 'Chief' Wiggins) in IHOF who has been underachieving this season. I haven't signed him to a new deal because his demands are too high. Is there much evidence that franchised players who aren't given new contracts tend to phone it in out of spite?

I don't think so. Cris Richardson is doing just fine this season.

Probably just having a 'down' year and will do much better next season, or he may be running out of gas and will finally be hitting the "scrap heap" before long.

That's a good part of the reason why I opted not to sign him to a long or bonus-heavy contract. Basically anyone who has gotten significant carries on my team this season has a better ypc than the Chief.

lol.

Yeah, seriously, Cris Richardson is a good example of journey-man who keeps producing despite switching teams basically every season. That feat alone, in my books, make Richardson a Hall-of-Fame caliber player.
