As a first thought, I reduced each entry to an integer (assuming (which may be incorrect) the letters represent roman numerals):
87, 76, 23, 11, 14, 58, 27, 60, 5, 19, 48, 20, 37, 7, 3, 54, 31, 38, 63, 106, 48, 19, 46, 33, 43, 22, 65, 26, 3, 33, 10, 31, -14, -25, 50, 18, 72, 45, 0

I was doing that but gave up. Did you try then adding these numbers together?
8+7=15=1+5=6

Solved.

But this is a good puzzle, and I hate to spoil what was so much effort on the part of the creator, so I'm going to leave it alone.

The enigma may want to correct a few on this list. I think it should read:

88-1, 16(V)-4, 15+8, 13(II)-15, 22-8, 81-23, 12(IV)-9, 32(II)-4, 34-32, 17+2, 15(II)+18, 12(II)-4, 44-7, 54 + 79 - 126, 11(II)-19, 54, 16+15, 24(II)-10, 83-20, 95+11, 12(VI)-12, 25-6, 16(IV)-18, 52-29, 32+11, 16(II)-10, 12(III)+5, 12(V)-22, 30-27, 12+21, 11-1, 13+18, 8-22, 7-32, 16(III)+2, 24-6, 80-8, 39+6, 8(II)-24

These look like the numbers of either Super Bowl MVP's or SB participants to me - 54 + 79 seems to be a giveaway to Randy White and Harvey Martin. 39 Czonka, 44 Riggins, etc. Roman numerals could represent the Nth time that number won the award - 8(II) the second for Aikman perhaps? No clue what the other number may be.

So, maybe:

54 + 79 - 126

Means Randy White (54) and Harvey Martin (79) in Superbowl #(54+79-126=)7?

A math equation involving football... what a fitting 10,000th post.

Thank you, and these corrections are prudent indeed. Sorry if the mistakes caused any problems.

edit: whoops, posted under the wrong name.

Okay, since no one else wants this. Answer was XXL.

Cuervo was right on. Just add the Super Bowl referenced to the arithmetic, translate to a letter.

Example: 88 was Lynn Swann's jersey number, Swann was MVP of Super Bowl 10, subtract 1, get 9, translate to the letter I.

Message reads: It is the next biggest size after next years one.

Since next year is Super Bowl 40 (XL), XXL is the next biggest size.

I've got a very easy one posted just to get the pump primed.
