I'm going back and forth between the Miami game (at least once it starts.) Looking forward to seeing the USA win this one.

Pretty good first half performance. I missed the first goal, but we've had several chances and Costa Rica only one (thankfully they were offside).

Without EJ, we really are short of solid finishers. I just cringe everytime Beasley hits the turf.

I loved the persistence on that third goal. 3-0 USA!

Good win for the USA. Big thanks to this thread since I completely spaced out the game today.

Nice win. Could have had 7 or 8 with all the chances they had.

Great game. Keller played great.

Why is the Panama game so late? I know it's in Panama, but Panama isn't a big time zone difference.

We were getting outplayed at the beginning of the second half, but nice saves by Keller and the second goal killed them. Good job by McBride on the second goal ... he deserved the 3rd.

I just assumed that due to baseball games it isn't being shown live in the US.

Grant Wahl talks to Kasey Keller (my personal favorite US player, as a former keeper myself): hxxp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ler/index.html

On both ESPN and ESPN2? I though the US soccer games, escp. now, pull in strong ratings, compared to a regular season baseball game?

thank god we have good keepers! I am worried that our defense simply isn't good enough come world cup time. I have no problem watching Ralston, Beasley, Convey and Donovon making runs from the midfield but for crying out loud we need 1 midfielder who is a solid ball winner. Don't care if its Mastronini, O'Brien or Armas but somebody. We can't expect to win the world cup with the way we have been playing without the ball. Too many chances. Luckily we have time to address it and i think the Bruce will come World Cup time. Wasn't a fan of the everchanging formation we used today. Too many players put in roles that they are not used to. Heh we win 3-0 and i am upset guess i have been spoiled and expect/hope for bigger things this time around.

I'm with you. I think these types of teams should be beaten 5-0 every time, given the talent disparity. Obviously that won't always be the case, but that should be the expectation.

What is the deal with Ralston? He is just so damned bad with his first touch, and off the ball. On a lot of those Grade-A chances for Costa Rica he was casually watching.

Guy is a total chump at the national team level, IMO.

I think a lot of it has to do with maintaining focus, which is probably the biggest hurdle the US team faces. It's why the score is 2-0 instead of 5-0. When you hear US players talk about the biggest problem they have to overcome after going over to Europe, it's always the fact that they are required to focus for the full 90 minutes. Watching Beasley and Bocanegra, you can see the impact that mentality has.
