Possible, though not likely hijacking?

ABC just broke in and announced a Virgin Atlantic Airlines plane was emitting a hijacking warning signal. Now supposedly the pilot claims that everyone is okay, and that it is a mechanical malfunction. But just for precautions sake they scrambled some fighters for it, and diverted it to canada. Still, very odd little news tidbit.

"A New York-bound Virgin Atlantic flight is transmitting a hijacking code, although the company says it is a mechanical error. Canadian fighter jets have been sent to intercept the plane, which has been diverted to Canada."

Maybe the pilots were rubbing weiners and one of them slipped, hitting the button. After all, it is called the cock pit. . .

I like the whole "We wont let it land in America, but, eh let it land in Canada" mentality.

Actually, they're pretty busy, what with all the planning for...

But I've said too much.

Back when the Electronic Surveilance plane had to make the emergency landing in China, a Canadian friend and I were discussing the situation. He believed that a large air battle had taken place with US fighters downing the Chineese plane. I said that wasn't possible for two reasons. First our surveilance plane landed...second Chineese fighter planes made it home.

He mocked me for claiming superior abilities, and reminded me that Canadian pilots had won the three previous "Top Gun" competitions. I reminded him that it was the NATO version of the competition, and mentioned that we probably sent our second team so as not to show anyone up.
I don't think he has returned many of my emails since.

Oh and No Myths...well played.

Non-story, apparently the plane has landed, and it was a mechanical failure. Better safe than sorry.
