FOF2004 Mentors
If I have 3 young running backs, and 1 old and wise mentor of a rb, who happens to have declined to almost 0 skill- if I keep this older rb inactive does he still have an effect on their development?

I had a question on this..
Has anyone been able to quantify the benefit of having a mentor?

I think it was confirmed in the original mentors thread that even if a player is inactive he still benifits the team...

There were some studies done on Shorty's question that showed there is most certainly a noticeable effect to having a mentor.

yeah, they definitely help if they are on the roster in any way. With a scrub like that you're best off trying to get him injured in pre-season and IR'ing him. |

Get 'em hurt & stash 'em on IR seems to work just as well for me as keeping them active.
Nothing quantifiable, just my overall impression (largely from a single approx. 30 season career) |

Just other players. To mentor is to teach someone else.

Unfortunate choice of threads to bump. Please ignore pretty much the whole thing.
jb, only young players receve benefits from having a mentor around, and very rarely does a young player become a mentor. So, in short, no. |
