NBA or NHL
Which one will get a new deal first. NBA has until 6-30-05 or lockout.

NHL deal will get done first. Only way NHL starts on time tho is if they use replacement players. NHL union will then fold like a cheap suit.

I tend to agree... it seems to me that the league needs to fold and start over. Besides, that damned Stanley Cup was getting too large anyway. A fresh trophy is in order. |

dola... no way David Stern lets the NBA stay locked out for very long. I'd be surprised if they miss any time at all, and shocked if it's more than a week or two.

I don't think the NHL starts on time. Has there been any progress at all?

If both the NBA and NHL are not playing by February 2006 after the Super Bowl they will be a short period with no major sports playing. I guess ESPN would run a D3 college basketball games from ESPNU. TNT would broadcast a reality series ex-NBA vs. ex-NHL. MLB would be going to training camps shortly in Mid-February and ESPN also could air a look at training camps and air preseason games. I remember the 1994-95 NHL and MLB strikes and during the weekdays in Ocftober their was no pro sports going on those days. Only a college football game on Thursday night was the only major event in October from Tuesday to Saturday mornings.
