Hmm... Last time I went to game in a luxury box was a Caps/Rangers game at the MCI center. Free food. Free beer. Good times... Though it does sort of remove you a bit from the experience. For example, during a "break in the action" at the Caps/Rangers game I instinctively reached for the remote to change the channel.

It depends. Some companies spring for everything, others don't and you have to pay. If you have to pay, it sucks because they really jack up the prices in the boxes. If everything is covered, you're golden.

It really depends on the package that you're friend's dad has. The suites I've been in were mostly set up nicely when corporate but pretty spartan when just a private owner.

What everyone else said... depends on who owns the box, and what they've paid for.

I've been to luxury boxes at America West Arena and Bank One Ballpark. Each time, the food and drink was covered, but the amount varied a bit. But each time it was a box owned by a large corporation - if it's a private owner, things may or may not be different. I'd bring a few bucks, just in case, and don't be afraid to ask the dudes working the box what is covered and what isn't.

Well, the guy who we're going with is the owner of "Wheels and Deals" which is some car dealership in San Jose....My lady friend says food is "catered". Hmm...sounds promising, but I guess I'll bring $40 or so just in case.

You're probably in good shape, then. There'll be food there. Probably free sodas at least. If your lucky, free beer. I'm pretty sure the hookers will still cost you, though.

Dude, it's Oakland. There's no need to go to all that trouble. A simple A's on his chest will do. Or on the back of his legs. That way, his buttcrack is a natural apostrophe.

I've been to the suites at Oakland Coliseum for baseball games. The person renting the suite has to order catering in advance, so if they have already mentioned it, food will be there. It's not there by default. And it is not limitless. Once the food and drinks are gone, you are on your own. The suites we had were on the 3rd base side, real close to the food court, so we never bothered with catering.

There is also high speed internet in the suites, so if you have a laptop, bring it, so you can give us updates during the game

Sheeeet, I want updates on the food. I'm stuck here with a 1/4 full jar of peanut butter and a 1/2 full box of honey Teddy Grahams.

WTF. I've only got the box.

F'n cats, eating all my Teddy Grahams. They threw them up anyway...apparently cats aren't supposed to eat cinnamon. Or graham.

F'n wife, thinking the cats are better than me.

Well, it was fun even though the A's got blasted 10-3. I'm a Giants fan anyhow . The suite was cool, though. It was KICU 36's suite, and they had free dogs, shrimp, ice cream, buffalo wings, cookies, and popcorn. Oh, and FREE BEER! I only had three, so that I wouldn't start making lewd comments about anyone's facelift or anything. Some of the other people in there were tanked by the 5th inning. If it weren't for the free beer and food, I would rather just sit out among the people.....

It's all charged back to the box owner. Nothing is free.

I guess I should have made this more clear: It was free for me

Free for him though. Unless you're speaking philosophically.

Yeah free for you. Unless you had 27 beers and then another invite is unlikely.

Too bad you don't live in Wisconsin.
