I HATE FM2005 - (J/K)
SO I find myself watching both USA World Cup Qualifiers this week and then today I bought FIFA2005......and all of this, ALL OF IT, is due to FM2005. Where is Marc Vaughn, that bastard owes me 35$ for making me give it to EA!!!

You should buy Winning Eleven 8, it's much better than FIFA.

Seriously. I hope you haven't opened FIFA. Return it for Winning Eleven.
Although I guess it's possible that a lot has changed in a year. I bought both FIFA and WE7 last year. Gave FIFA away quite quickly. Haven't even gotten around to buying WE8 yet simply because I'm too attached to WE7.

I second those who mention Winning Eleven 8. It is great sports console game. It is my second favorite behind MVP (which is high praise for MVP.)

No knock on that guy, but I don't know how he could come to that conclusion. I have both and FIFA's gameplay is crap if you've ever watched a real soccer match. The benefit of FIFA is that it has more teams and a more robust dynasty system. But the gameplay is so bad compared to WE 8, that it makes it painful to play after you've tried the other.

so far my biggest problem, isnt so much gameplay, per se, but the horrible camera angle choices. They all handicap me.

Oh no ... you already opened it? Well, maybe you can rent WE 8 just to compare the two. WE 8 has a great 'real soccer' feel to it that makes it great fun to play - especially if you have an action replay or something to download the real teams/rosters and get around the licensing issues. |

FIFA is a very nicely presented game BUT imho ISS is the only action football game which comes any where near recreating a soccer match, its fluid tactical and great fun to play. (we have regular matches in the office, even to the level of setting up tournaments etc.) |

Is Winning Eleven 8 the same as PES4?
So far I've found PES4 to be a step backwards from Winning Eleven 7. The graphics aren't as good and the controls are spongier and less responsive. Or is Winning Eleven 8 an improvement over PES4? |

WE - Play it 'zoomed out' (as with all action soccer games, the close in camera positions are just for the adverts ).

I believe WE 8 has the "Madden View" available. I prefer the TV view and use the radar. I think you can zoom all the way out, but then the players look like peanuts. It takes a little while to get used to, but you'll get the hang of it.
WE 8 is also not an easy game, more of a simulation than any sports game I know of, so that might contribute to the initial frustration. |

I probably would start WE in level 2 (2 stars) too until you get the hang of it. Also, be sure to check out the training scenarios, as they do a pretty good job of giving you some practice.

I wish you could up the difficulty in Master League mode without restarting. I was playing on 3 stars, but I wanted to go to 4 without restarting. Couldn't find a way to do it, so I actually quit playing.

Muthafucking FM
I just got fired in FM. fucking prick board. they fired me cause i allegedly had a poor relationship with my players which cuased them to underperform.
no....what caused them to underperform was the losing, and you fucks for not giving me money to bring on some good players. yes, we got relegated after i left my English League Two team to take on their League One team with 10 games left in the season, but we had JUST come off beating the 8th ranked team in the league. that doesn't count for anything. i hope a team in MLS opens up, i can't stand these bad teeth Brits, with their tea and crumpets. |
