Me too...well, as much as I can be a fan of a baseball team. Hope will spring forth, but will be crushed on June 8 of his apparently all-star season.

I have this mental image of Griffey wandering around his house wearing one of those helmets they stick on epileptics. And mittens.

I think Griffey will be healthy all year long and win the NL MVP.

Now that Griffey has commented that he wouldn't automatically reject a trade to the Yankees (kinda odd, anyone know how this comment came up?), I see the Reds falling hopelessly behind the Cards and Cubs, at least, and trading him to the Yankees in June or July, where he will tag-team with Bernie Williams and eventually replace Bernie for the stretch run.

Unless he gets hurt first.

May 29th - His arms will just pull completely off when swinging for the fences. I'd sit through Harold Reynolds to see that.

He will have one injury in April that should keep him out until June but he'll come back in May. He will then have another injury related to the first one in July that will finish him for the year.

Remember those pitchers, Dave Dravecky and also Tony Saunders who basically snapped their arms in half while pitching?

Tony Saunders is with Baltimore's Double-A team to start thisyear, I believe (unless something happened during ST).

Also Tom Browning. I always thought it was interesting that they were all basically the same pitcher - lefties who were not overpowering, but weren't afraid to challenge with a high hard one. Washburn of Anaheim is a current pitcher of the same style.

Dravecky's was related to cancer and the treatments he underwent for it. I believe the arm was later amputated.
