I'm catching myself looking at the prospects list and going "wow, I've got some good looking pitchers coming up", but then I have to remind myself these guys are just going to be blips in the stat records by the time I get the team. This is going to be neat.

If it makes you feel any better, that meant you had the first pick in the Amateur Draft of 54 Jeeber

54 completed, and posted to the board.

55 Should be interesting, the Dayton Shellbacks are losing their two time Platinum Pitcher Award winner to the free agent market.. I shudder to think what this guy'll get on the open market

I tell you I would rather be a champion in 2003 as opposed to 1953. He he. I will take the 53 title 'cause I probably won't win ever again.

How long do you think it will take to finish the 50 year sim?

Hmm, I'm still getting '53 on the website...

Also, Fozzie, I'm going out of town for a week starting tomorrow. I'll probably be able to get on line every once in a while, but I won't have access to OOTP. How is this going to affect my team? I guess that I won't be able to submit line-ups and stuff for a while, but I can keep it on the computer default until I get back, right?

Why do I get the feeling this is going to be like an NBA game where the only thing that matters is the final two years (minutes in the NBA of course)?

Since 55 is still uploading, and doesn't seem to be as fast as I'd like

I've decided to splurge out a little bit, and I've registered a full fledged domain, and hopefully will have some pretty cool web hosting too.

The SBL will be available sometime within the next week or so at: http://www.thesbl.com

Update: Thanks to a friend in the web hosting Bizness, the SBL will have the official home at http://www.thesbl.com ,

Since 48-72 hours are needed to set up all the DNS servers, the league is available also at it's IP: http://66.206.26.5

I think that's a good idea. I probably won't check on much of my team's first fourty years other than the years they won championships and any players that dominated the league. I'm interested in the new records the SBL creates and think it will be fun breaking them but the five years before 2003 are what intrigue me the most.

I can almost understand the need to steal from the best online league in existence. However, if you don't have the meek intelligence to spell the surname Vaughan correctly, you deserve to have your pubic hair individually pulled out.

Dola.. (otherwise known as .. On Second thought..)

Until I visited the FOBL website to see why the knives were out, I didn't know that the FOBL had Vaughan (changed btw ) and Gindin Leagues, for great ghu's sake it's a league based off people from here on the board.

So Vaughan, Heinsohn and Gindin were logical names, ok? And if one attempts to say I ripped you guys off because the website's the same naming scheme as yours.. I tried several other combos before settling on www.thesbl.com, some were too long.. (can you guess how many "Website is down" complaints I'd get when it's just solecismic mistyped?

I have no grudge against FOBL, I wish them the best, but I hope a few of the folks who attacked me understand that not only no offense was meant, no copying was meant.

Sweet, El Paso wins it all in 1960 and yet still has the second best farm system in the league. The future looks bright in El Paso. Hopefully they can hold it together for another forty years...

Hit a snag the past couple of years, but I have 4 of the top 5 pitching prospects. All have good of higher in every category and each have one brilliant rating and are in AA or higher

Lot better then my RWBL team

I don't think there are any hard feelings, really. But it would be considered respectful to at least not use the same league name and award titles as the original FOFC OOTP league does.

I for one wish your league the best, but do wish you'd extend a little professional courtesy.
