Let's see I had to wake up at 7:00 AM, get on a train for three hours, go to the Home & Garden show at Navy Pier, take another train home for 2 hours. The whole time I am thinking about hattrick. Come home, log onto the internet. Type in hattrick.org.
Get sever down.

Want to cry. That is my day today. Now I am going to go back to crying.

You can just see the FOFC Hattie contingent sitting by the computer with their limbs a-twitchin', foaming at the mouth and muttering, "c'mon . . . c'mon . . . "

Oh, wait. No, that was me.

Think I'll write the hattrick guys and tell them I want a six cent refund

That or ask for a one day extension of my hattrick supporter

Maybe not

I think we might be overreacting a smidge. I've been playing a couple of months and this is the first significant unannounced downtime for a server with tens of thousands of people...

I don't think I'm overreacting (not that you are accusing me sterling), but I do find it amusing how many people are addicted. Just trying to add some humor to the subject.

You're all welcome

I'm on, with massive lag, really slow, trying to pull a youth player............come on.........pressed the call up button, please be good. Still waiting.........waiting..........here he comes........here he goes. I can't get any luck with youth pulls anymore. The guys best stat was weak in defending.

Well, I can pray that the last place team will beat the third place team, so I can become the third place team assuming I can beat the team I am playing. I might actually have a chance. The two teams are roughly the same in talent, they are both pretty new.

With my poor youth team I pulled a goalie. He was wretched at goalkeeping. Why did the previous owner have to slack off on youth team?

I am pretty sure that everything resets when you get the team, all new players and everything.

Also- I pulled a goalie...and i was really close to keeping him, he was rated as weak and valued at around $50,000....I had to cut him Maybe next week I can get an inadequate)

I thought I heard of a couple guys here starting at at least weak youth team. Mine was wretched last week and I pulled a poor goalie, so even a weak pull would look like an excellent to me

Solid youth team:

Paid off three times. Only one with a great player. The other times young trainees. Did get one of them to passable in about 4 weeks.

Can't give you more details like his name and anything else since he got fired right away. No place for feelings in this game

yeah, but mine was the Chris Weinke of Hattrick.
Sheesh, a 22 year old youth pull at only a week and half of the global aging process... Also, I realized just this morning that my youth squad is not weak anymore, it's up to indequate...

"Anyone want to help me with my team?"
sure- I have some time, I can give you a little help...

"Here is my roster. Im just not sure when to sell players, and how I should balance selling to make money vs keeping guys to win games."
I think its all preference when you start out, personally I sold almost every player the computer gave me....so that my team is now made of players that I bought, and like- they are 'my guys'
"should I sell Lange, and how much do you think I'd get for him? Someone offered me 2000 Euros, but I have no clue what that is in american dollars."
2000 euros is 2000 american dollars (when selling players the game does the exchange for you)....I would sell him, but I think you could get a little more from him, he has excellent stamina, passable scoring, but for form....Although he is also pretty old, I think you could get a little for him.

I am also pretty new to hattrick so I don't know how good my advice is....Also, people have said that right now is not a good time to sell players since this season is almost over, they say it is better to hold onto your players until the begginging of next season, if I were you I would decide what formation I want to run (and train with) and start looking for very young guys with passable in the key ratings...You might be able to find some guys really cheap right now if you look hard. I hope this helps a little, there are a bunch of hattrick help threads in the Dynasty forum, those should also give you some help.

WI: Cerezo, Vega
MI: Ezell, Cordova (def), Boston
FO: Jackson, Cartwright

SELL: (at beginning of next year when market picks up) Murillo, Lange, Jackson, Gallagher, Chan

Wow: shame Gallagher and Langhe and Jackson are old or you would have an awesome division V winning team next year! Most of your other guys are young and you have passables in most key positions. And you have a solid coach. You're either leaving a charmed life or have spent some cash. You have at least 5 passable scorers (even if 3 are old)!?!

You'll want a younger defensive middie (less than $20K) so you can sell Dudley. Also, you need the dreaded passable goalie, which will set you back between $65K and $85K (prices are really low right now so jump on them!) but that's for a 17-20yo. Younger is better. Haynes will serve as a nice backup if you don't want to throw down any cash for an inad (and you don't really need to).

You might be tempted to play Cordova at defender since he's young and could take Dudley's place but I think an unpredictable defender is just a scary proposition. I'm not entirely sure where to play Blanchard since he's good in a lot of spots but you have most of your holes filled except wing defender. Go put down a decent chunk of change on a

You have the most charmed roster I've seen so far. You can run a quality 3-5-2 with 23ish stars right off the bat. If you haven't spent any cash yet, go get yourself the wingback (pass def/inad wing or better) you need and your passable goalie.

Train midfield and then buy yourself a cheap second team of 17-19yo's with inad at playmaking and inad/passable at their key skills. If you haven't spent any cash and you have this team- you should be set for next year. Before you hit the market, watch it! Don't spend money until you know what you are doing or you will waste your good team advantage. Your team has a shot to really start up quick and possibly get promoted next year.

Thanks, guys.

This is the team I started with, all I have done is these things...

1. bought Lange (for 15k though it looks like it was a waste)
2. pulled someone from my youth squad, but I forget who it was (coffman maybe?)
3. got a solid coach.
4. hired 2 keeper coaches, and 4 assistants
5. set training to 90% defending

I'll start looking for that goalie.

Set that bad boy to playmaking. Considering your team makeup, it will do you a world of good.
