Thanks K; but there doesn't seem to be anything on that site to help me.

I could be missing it or something.

Double dola, rock n rolla...

Ok, I am not finding what I need on that site.

Here is the debate:

Text messaging on a cell phone- what is the proper way to say it in past tense?

I text you yesterday. Did you get it?

I texted you yesterday. Did you get it?

I text'd you yesterday. Did you get it?

Any other suggestions?

So, using just the word text is not proper? I guess that makes sense.

Thanks

"text" is not a verb (yet), so there is no past tense.

i'd go with " I texted you yesterday. Did you get it?"

although that's surely not 100% grammatically correct, it goes along the lines of the whole 'texting' concept.

That makes perfect sense. So my friends that say texted are either stupid sounding or ahead of their time.

Text is an irregular verb, it is:

"Today I text."
"Yesterday I toxt."
"Tomorrow I will tixt."

I'm not sure whether to be impressed or scared that there's this much discussion about one verb in a medium that really doesn't care two whits about grammar. That said, I love RA's post
