Hells jyeah!!! -Hattrick haters stay away-

My last weeks youth pull was an absolute stud. Check him out...

Garrett Croft
70 000 US$, 17 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities [Unpredictable]

Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: weak
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: inadequate

Anyway, played his first league game today and flat busted out. 4 goals. Yes, count em, four! He actually accounted for all of my scoring. At first I was tempted to sell him to get out of debt, but I think I will keep him now.

I hate you. If only I could pull another Tom Sanders. Everyone since him has been useless. Can't count how many times I have said curling tryouts were yesterday to my crappy pull. Good news, is that I am out of debt.

Yeah, he is the only youth pull I have had worth a damn so far and I am at solid on my youth squad. Keeping Garrett, I sold Ricky Nash for 50g's which helped but I am still 60k in debt. Probably won't get out of it until after the next stud youth pull, whenever that will be.

I have a feeling my team will never pull another stud. I've been solid since the start of the season, please pay off.

I just pulled a 21 yo keeper valued at $60K so I'm keeping him as my backup and selling my 26 yo keeper valued at $35K. I am close to $300K in debt though so I may sell the 21 yo pull instead.

If you are going to use the 60k as a backup I would definately sell without a second thought, especially considering your financial situation.

Should you pull someone every week, if your Youth Team is Solid?

Astral . . . solid scorer AND unpredictable! Tres uber alles!

Oh, yeah . . . and, for this week, I dislike all you people who pulled a solid scorer.

If your financial situation allows, it's probably worth trying a youth pull every week starting at inadequate. Game of chance an all that.

Well, if it makes anyone else feel better, my youth squad is up to passable and my team has a grand total of a $1K sale to show for every single youth pull I've ever had.

My youth squad is only up to inadequate, but I got lucky once and pulled an inadequate keeper, and got $20k for him. It's been said several times in these parts - if you are still working your way up with your youth squad, pull keepers... there's a better chance of getting a player with at least some value. (Only one die needs to roll well, if you will)

Tom Sanders was great because he symbolized all that was great with America. Tom Sanders represented Mom's apple pie and cold beer. Tom Sanders was hated when he came to Spring Grove but he later endeared himself to the fans.

Tom Sanders was the best because he played in a balanced tactic and illinifan didn't cheat to generate his stats.

But, it's just a shame what Tom Sanders did to that kid.

(hey illini, does that remind you of another poster who talked too much about one of his players? )

Bah. It's all about Galesburg's Unholy Trio. Inge, Daryl, and Wiley.

Inge is Norse. Inge will scream in strange guttural dialects and proceed to conquer your field. Fear Inge.

Daryl scores. Daryl is old. Daryl does not like that he is considered old, and will score just to make the kids look bad. Daryl does not like you if you are younger than he is. Fear Daryl.

Wiley is insane. Wiley gives Daryl the damn ball. Wiley is pissed he had to sit out a game because he got carded a lot. Wiley never scores 'cause Daryl does the scoring. Fear Wiley.

I've seen people here have a ton of luck with pulling inad keepers starting at weak. I should have tried it myself, but oh well.

This looks like a good random thread to post a quick hattrick question.

Is there an optimal time to put someone on the transfer list to encourage a bidding war?

Many people seem to suggest between 3-4 PM, when it ends people will be at work near the end of the day. Unfortunately, it seems that value is lower near the end of a season, like now.

He's on some Swedish team. He plays for their B squad. He was able to pay 600,00+ for a backup player.

Oy vey. My entire team isn't worth that much. $600K would buy me a division V winning team (or pay off my current debt and get me a great player or two to work on).

Well after a humongous bidding war that involved going for 1,000 to 74,000 in a spna of 10 minutes is over, and I have my first solid playmaker. He was the second Danish guy I got into a bidding war with, but the first time I let the guy win. He'll be 20 next season, and is in passable form. Next season I am moving up to D4, I make my prediciton now.

Well, I thought for sure I would be in Div. IV after next season. I talk pretty reguarly with the 1st place team, Man U Wannabes, turns out, he's going to throw his qualifying game because he doesn't think he's ready for Div. IV yet! Just great.

I inherited a division IV team, but in a so bad shape that I'll be in div V next season...

Vexroid: what kind of loser would throw a game because he thinks he's not good enough to play in the higher league? Sorry, but I don't see the point. My pride would probably dictate me to give all my best to try and win to be in the highest possible division, but that may be just me...

Thought some people would get a kick outta this. Reading the conference and them talkinga bout training youth players soley to be on national teams, one of the nat coaches states this:

It's now at the point where the vast majority of our best players are Canadian based. The one exception is in net, where the starter is owned by a Swede. He has said he intends to stop training him at extra-terrestrial. That's not very good for a keeper. The number 2 keeper in Canada is Canadian owned, and I would bet he will eventually be the starter

I would kill for an excellent keeper, and for these guys ET isn't good enough. Must be nice to have a great team.

Get promoted too early. Get thrashed. Severely pissed off Supporters.

I can see how it can be less than desirable for someone. Alas, I don't have SUCH "problems" as considering whether or not to be promoted. Mine's closer to "damn, midfield is wretched AGAIN".

Throwing a game against one team and MotS'ing against another to cause one to be promoted over another would be sabotaging. Vex's pal opting not be promoted is kinda against the spirit of competition but calling it "sabotage" would be going a bit far.

Just start calling him the Black Sox from now on vex. I'm glad that the winner in my division will hopefully be gone, the guy allowed 4 goals all season. And scored something like 52. So I really hope he gets promoted.

Hey, I agree whole-heartedly with you. I really wish he would get out of here. I know I wouldn't even think of such a thing. And he's not really a friend or anything, just a guy I've been buddying up to so that when he gets to IV, he could possible help campaign for FOFC, and now this!!!!

Thing is, if he's going to get out, he'd better get out now because chances are, he won't beat me next year. I tied him both times this year and I started midseason, this is his first full season and he played half of one as well.

Hey Vex,

This little situation has given me everything i needed to become full time supporter of your Sidekicks. You should see my Pittbulls among the list of your supporters real soon.

I really hope you can kick this guy's butt next season and force him to stay in div V for another year. I will be following your season with interest. BEST OF LUCK IN PROVING HIM WRONG!!!

Later, FrogMan.
